How to Play Lady Jane Solitaire:
- Lady Jane Solitaire is a card game played with two standard decks of 52 cards.
- At the start of the game 55 cards are dealt face up to 10 tableau piles. The first pile has one card, the second pile has 2 cards, the third pile has 3 cards, and so on.
- The remaining 49 cards form the stock pile (at the upper left corner) with the first 3 cards of the stock pile immediately dealt to the waste pile (to the immediate right of the stock pile).
- There are eight spaces at the top. These are for the foundation piles.
- The object of Lady Jane Solitaire is to move all 104 cards to the foundation piles.
- The foundation piles are built from A to K with cards of the same suit.
- To begin building a foundation pile you begin with an ace. Each ace can only be moved to a matching space at the top. For instance, if you wish to move an ace of hearts you can only move it to one of the two available ace of hearts spaces. That is, you cannot move it to a space designated for an ace of spades, clubs, or diamonds.
- To move cards, you drag them with your mouse.
- The only cards that may be moved are the top card on the waste pile, or the last card(s) on a tableau pile.
- Only the top card on the waste pile, or the last card on a tableau pile can be moved to a foundation pile.
- You can use the tableau piles to hold the cards temporarily.
- The cards are ranked like this from low to high: A, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, J, Q, K.
- You can move a card from one tableau pile to another, or move the top card from the waste pile to a tableau pile, if the card you are moving is one rank lower than the last card on the tableau pile regardless of suit. For example, if the last card on a tableau pile shows an 8, you could drag any moveable 7 on top of the 8.
- If the last cards on a tableau pile are consecutive cards from high to low with the same suit, then you can move them together as a unit.
- When a tableau pile is empty, you can put any moveable card on it.
- You can click the stock pile to deal additional cards to the waste pile, 3 cards at at time.
- When all of the stock cards are dealt, you can flip over the waste cards and deal the stock cards one, and only one, more time.
- Score 200 points for each card you are able to place on a foundation.
- A winning score would be 20800 points.

- The game sounds may be adjusted.
- The music volume may be adjusted.
- The game may be played in full screen mode (a very nice feature to make the cards nice and big).
Lady Jane Solitaire Playing Tips:
- Try to build the tableau piles by suits as much as you can. This makes it easier to move the cards around.
- If you cannot build some of the tableau piles by suit, you may want to designate one or two piles where you 'dump' the cards and just build by rank and not as much by suit. It is easier to have only one or two difficult piles, rather than many.
- Try to make as many empty spaces in the tableau as you can. Empty spaces give you greater flexibility.
- Take a peek at the second card in the waste pile by dragging and holding on to the top card in the waste pile. After you see what it is, put the top card back by releasing your mouse. Knowing what the next card is in the waste pile can help you strategize.
- Before giving up, always play the cards out as much as you can. Not only will this give you more points, but sometimes it can lead to an unanticipated move that can really help you.
