Magic Room Solitaire

Magic Room Solitaire
Game Description: Move cards from one column to another by dragging cards with your mouse. A card may be moved from one column to another if the card you are moving is one rank lower. For instance, a 4 may be moved unto a 5, a 5 may be moved unto a 6, and so forth. Suits do not matter. Groups of cards that are already in proper sequence may be moved together. For example, a group of J, 10, 9, 8, and 7 may be moved as a single unit. Form chains of cards from King to Ace to remove them from the playing field. Remove all of the cards to win!

How to Play Magic Room Solitaire:
  • The rank of cards is the usual rank, with Ace being low.
  • Drag cards with your mouse to move them from one column to another.
  • A card may be moved from one column to another if the card you are moving is one rank lower. For instance, a 4 may be moved unto a 5, a 5 may be moved unto a 6, and so forth. Suits do not matter.
  • Groups of cards that are already in proper sequence may be moved together. For example, a group of J, 10, 9, 8, and 7 may be moved as a single unit.
  • Only the bottom card of each column, or the bottom group of cards that is in the proper sequence, can be moved.
  • Any moveable card, or card group, may be moved into an empty column.
  • When you make a full chain from King to Ace, those cards will disappear from the playing field.
  • When you are stuck and can no longer make any more moves, click the 'Stack' of cards located near the lower left corner and Magic Room Solitaire will deal one more card unto each column.
  • Click the 'Undo' button anytime you want to undo your last move.
  • You win when you are able to remove all of the cards from the playing field!
  • It is also possible to win by removing every card from the playing field even if cards remain in the 'Stack'.
  • After your game is finished, click the 'Restart' button to play again.

Play Magic Room Solitaire on Full Screen

Please Note: Before playing Magic Room Solitaire in Full Screen mode, you may want to take a moment, or two, to read my review. Then, after playing your game, simply click the back button on your browser to return to this page.

Magic Room Solitaire Game Options: The game options may be accessed from the 'Main Menu'. However, there is no way to get back to the 'Main Menu' without quitting your game. So, each of these options must be set before you begin game play. The game options are both located near the lower right corner. The options are:
  • The game sounds, which are minimal, may be turned on or off by clicking the microphone icon.
  • The game music may be turned on or off by clicking the musical note icon.

Comments: Even though Magic Room Solitaire is probably one of the easier card games to win, it still manages to be fun! And there will be those occasional difficult deals, though they are quite rare, when you will find it impossible to win.

Triple Rotate

Triple Rotate
Game Description: Rotate each group of three figures by clicking them with your mouse. If the figures in the group are identical they will disappear, and the triangle where they are located will change to gold. To advance to the next level of play, you must turn every triangle on the board into gold before time runs out. Should you fail a level, you may repeat a level as many times as you need until you succeed. Have fun, and good luck!

How to Play Triple Rotate:
  • Rotate each group of three figures by clicking them with your mouse.
  • If the figures in the group are identical they will disappear, and the triangle where they are located will change to gold.
  • The timer is on the right. It shows you how much time you have remaining.
  • To advance to the next level of play, you must turn all triangles on the playing field into gold before time runs out.
  • Should you fail a level, you may repeat a level as many times as you need until you succeed.

Please Note: With the free version of Triple Rotate, which is the version I have here on my site, it is not possible to save your game progress. So you will have to try to finish the entire game in one sitting; a daunting task to be sure. I am not certain how many levels there are to the free version of Triple Rotate, but I suspect there are probably 20. The reason I say this is because with all of the other games that I have seen published by Glade Games, their free versions always seem to have 20 levels. Normally I will finish a game so I can accurately tell you how many levels are available. However with Triple Rotate, I was unable to complete the entire game.

The Triple Rotate Bonuses: Don't forget about the bonuses on the bottom. These can help you win! The bonuses are:
  • Use the 'Shuffle' bonus to rearrange the figures on the playing field.
  • Use the 'Bomb' bonus to explode the figures in any triangle.
  • The 'Lightning' bonus will blast three triangles on the playing field.

Triple Rotate Game Options:
  • The music may be turned on or off by clicking the musical note icon located at the bottom, just to the right of the 'Menu' button.
  • The game sounds may be turned on or off by clicking the microphone icon also located at the bottom, just to the right of the 'Menu' button and directly below the musical note icon.
  • You may pause the game by clicking the 'Menu' button located at the lower left corner. To resume your game, click the 'Continue' button.

Comments: Glade Games always seems to come up with top-notch games and Triple Rotate certainly fits into that category. It is absolutely superb! Once you practice a little, you will quickly get the hang of rotating the figures. So give it a try. You will not be disappointed. Even though you may not be able to complete the entire game, it is certainly fun to try.

Embed Mahjong

Embed Mahjong
Game Description: Play the game of mahjong with no time limits! Click on two identical tiles to make a match. (Only tiles that are lit up may be clicked). Score 2 points for each match you can make. Watch the bottom of the game screen to see how many matches are currently available. As long as there is at least one match remaining, you are still in the game. So don't give up! Your goal is to score as many points as you possibly can. Good luck, and have fun!

How to Play Embed Mahjong:
  • Click on two identical tiles to make a match.
  • Only tiles that are lit up may be clicked.
  • Certain tiles that have pictures may sometimes be matched with similar, but not identical, tiles.
  • Click the 'undo' button to undo your last move.
  • Watch the bottom of the game screen to see how many matches are currently available. As long as there is at least one match remaining, you are still in the game. So don't give up!
  • When the number of matches finally gets down to zero, Embed Mahjong will tell you that 'No Matches Remain!' and the game is then over. Click the 'new game' button to play again.
  • The best score you can possibly achieve is 144 points.

Embed Mahjong Game Options:
  • The game sounds, which are minimal anyway, may be turned on or off by clicking the microphone icon which is located near the lower left corner.

Comments: This is the first mahjong game that I have been able to find that does not have a time limit. If you are still learning how to play mahjong, like I am, I think you will enjoy this particular version of the game. (Most of the mahjong games that I have seen give you very little time to make matches, and can be rather nervewracking). Even if you are an expierenced mahjong player, I still think you will probably find this game very relaxing and quite enjoyable.

Please Note: I am going to include a Full Screen link so you can play the game in Full Screen mode. Personally, I feel this game is much more enjoyable on Full Screen, and it will certainly be easier on your eyes. I do this as a courtesy. Even though you will be leaving my site to play the Full Screen version, I will set the link so that it will open in a new tab or window. That way my site will also remain open should you wish to come back.

Extreme Triathlon

How to Play Extreme Triathlon:
  • Your racer is the one in the light blue clothing.
  • For each section of the race, Extreme Triathlon will provide on screen prompts and remind you what controls you should use.
  • You begin the race by pressing your spacebar.
  • The left and right arrow keys are used to guide your athlete left or right.
  • Pumping The 'X' key rapidly is used to speed up.
  • The 'Z' key is used to jump over obstacles, and to dive when swimming.
  • The 'C' key, which you really don't need to use, is used to look behind you.
  • Remember, during each part of the race, to try to pick up the red water bottles whenever you can to give your guy more stamina. If you don't, he will tire more quickly.
  • Also try to pick up gold coins along the way to earn points.
  • Level 1 is Gibraltar. You must finish ahead of at least one other racer to advance to the next race.
  • If you finish in last place, you may repeat a race as many times as you need until you finish higher than last place and thereby advance to the next race.
  • Your ultimate goal is to become triathlon champion by getting to the final race and winning it!
  • Extreme Triathlon will automatically save your game progress as long as you use the same computer. If you want to continue a saved game, just remember to click the 'Continue' button instead of the 'Play' button when you come back. Good luck!

Comments: It will probably take you 2 or 3 races before you start to get the hang of it. But once you do, the game will quickly become very fun. The graphics are absolutely terrific!

Flash Checkers 3

Game Description: Play a game of checkers against the computer.

How to Play Flash Checkers 3:
  • Once the game fully loads, click the blue 'Play' button at the top.
  • You play the red pieces at the bottom. The computer plays the white pieces at the top.
  • You always get to make the first move. After that, play alternates between you and the computer.
  • When it is your turn to make a move, hover your mouse over any of your checker pieces. If your mouse pointer changes its shape, and it will probably change into a hand depending on how your mouse properties are set, this tells you that you may move that particular piece. If your mouse pointer does not change its shape, this means that you cannot move that piece on your current turn.
  • To move one of your pieces, you cannot drag it with your mouse. Dragging will not work. Instead, it takes two separate mouse clicks. First click on the piece you want to move. Then click on the square where you want to move your piece, to complete your turn.
  • Anytime you click on a piece that is moveable, make sure you really want to move it, because you cannot change your mind. You must complete the move.
  • Standard checkers rules apply. If you can jump one of your opponent's pieces, when it is your turn, Flash Checkers 3 will force you to do so. Of course, if you can jump more than one piece when it is your turn, you may choose which piece you want to jump.
  • Your goal is to capture all of your opponent's pieces to win the game!

Comments: Although Flash Checkers 3 puts up a better fight than Koala Checkers, and is at least somewhat fun, it is simply much too easy to beat in my opinion. So I am still searching for a checkers game that will present a better challenge.

Word Grid

Word Grid
Game Description: Each game begins with a 4 x 4 puzzle grid of 16 letters. Your goal is to form as many words as you can from 3 to 8 letters, within the time limit, by clicking on adjacent letters in horizontal, vertical, or diagonal directions. Your score is based on how many words you can make, and the number of letters in each word. Longer words score more points. If you are able to find every word on the Word Grid list before time runs out, which is extremely difficult to do, you will earn extra bonus points! Have fun, and good luck!

How to Play Word Grid:
  • Each game begins with a 4 x 4 puzzle grid of 16 letters.
  • Your goal is to form as many words as you can from 3 to 8 letters, within the time limit. (The timer is the bar at the top of the game. It moves from right to left).
  • Form words by clicking on adjacent letters in horizontal, vertical, or diagonal directions.
  • When you are forming a word a line will connect the letters, and your proposed word will appear at the bottom.
  • Click the last letter a second time to submit your word.
  • If your word is accepted you will earn points, and your word will appear on the right of the grid where you will see the official Word Grid list for this particular puzzle.
  • Hint: Once you form a word of 5 or more letters, Word Grid will sort your list alphabetically and show you how many words remain to be found on the list by showing a space for each letter in each word.
  • Your score is based on how many words you can make, and the number of letters in each word.
  • Longer words score more points.
  • If you are able to find every word on the Word Grid list before time runs out, which is extremely difficult to do, you will earn extra bonus points!
  • The game ends when you find every word on the Word Grid list, or when time runs out.

Word Grid Game Options: The game options may be accessed by clicking the Options button located at the bottom of the game screen just to the right of the question mark icon. (It kind of looks like a gear shaft). The game options are:
  • The game sounds may be adjusted.
  • The music volume may be adjusted.
  • Full Screen mode may be turned on or off.

Word Grid Playing Tips:
  • Every Word Grid puzzle will have at least one word of 5 or more letters. As soon as you can find an acceptable word of at least 5 letters, Word Grid will sort your list alphabetically and show you how many words remain to be found on the list by showing a space for each letter in each word. If you are clever, and can think quickly, you can use this information to help yourself figure out what some of the missing words are.
  • Word Grid will accept a lot of unusual and trashy type of words such as: ens, ani, nib, and so forth. If you play the game enough times, you will begin to remember what some of these "words" are.

Word Grid Comments: Who knew you could have this much fun with only 16 letters? Even though Word Grid will allow some very questionable words, it is still a terrific game and has become one of my all-time personal favorite games here on Richard's Game Reviews.

World's Greatest Places Mahjong

World's Greatest Places Mahjong
Game Description: Enjoy a soothing stroll through dazzling locations around the globe in the World's Greatest Places Mahjong! Embark on a relaxing journey to some of the most beautiful places on Earth all while playing the classic game of Mahjong. Remove tiles in different layouts while visiting the Roman Coliseum, the Taj Mahal, and other magnificent sites.

How to Play World's Greatest Places Mahjong:
  • There are 25 levels and 7 different types of games to play.
  • Each game will be played several times throughout the course of the game.
  • The 7 games are: Mahjong (this is regular Mahjong where you will select two matching tiles to remove them), Swap Tiles game (in this game you will select two tiles in order to place matching tiles next to each other), Find Pair game (locate the same pair of tiles within each layer and the rest of the tiles in the layer will disappear), Memory game (in this game you will click on blank tiles to find matching pairs), Find Logical Pair game (in this game you will find and match pairs of tiles that logically go together such as: bow and arrow, ship and anchor, lock and key, and so forth), Find Non-Pair game (in this game there are only two tiles in each layer that do not have a pair. Find them and the rest of the tiles in the layer will disappear), and the Four Rivers game (in this game you will select two matching tiles to remove them. They must be connected with an imaginary line which does not pass through any other tile).
  • In every instance before you play each game, World's Greatest Places Mahjong will explain the rules and show you what to do.
  • It is easy to remember what game you are playing because you will always see the game title at the top of the game screen.
  • Each game has 3 help buttons located near the bottom left corner: Shuffle, Hint, and Undo.
  • Click the 'Hint' button and World's Greatest Places Mahjong will show you a matching pair. (You can use the 'Hint' button as many times as you want, but you will need to wait until the 'Hint' button charges up before you can use it again).
  • Click the 'Shuffle' button and World's Greatest Places Mahjong will rearrange the tiles for you. As far as I can tell, you can use this button as many times as you would like.
  • Click the 'Undo' button to undo your last move.
  • In addition to the 3 help buttons there are also 4 types of secret buttons to help you win.
  • After you complete each level you will awarded from 1 to 3 stars, depending I suppose on how fast you were able to finish the level.
  • If you earned less than 3 stars, and would like to try to earn more stars (which certainly can be fun), click the 'Replay' button to immediately replay the level again. (Of course if you earned 2 stars you could do worse and end up with only 1 star, but you can keep replaying a level as many times as you want until you earn those 3 stars). As far as I know, you only get this one opportunity to replay a level so you must do this immediately when offered. Once you click the 'Next' button, and go to the next level, I don't think you can go back and replay that level again until you finish all 25 levels and begin a brand new game.
  • I don't believe there is any time limit with any of the games. So if you don't care about the stars, you can relax and take your time should you just want to play casually.
  • World's Greatest Places Mahjong should automatically save your game progress. So as long as you use the same computer. and come back here to Richard's Game Reviews, you should be able to pick up where you last left off.
  • There is one more thing I want to mention in my review, and that is this: After some levels you will occasionally be shown a screen where you will be asked if you would like to download the game. If you only want to play your game for free, here on Richard's Game Reviews, simply click the 'Continue' button and resume your free play.

Comments: Even without a time limit, and just playing casually, World's Greatest Places Mahjong has enough variety to keep things interesting. This game also has excellent graphics. The one big drawback is the inability to replay a level any time you want. As I previously mentioned, once you click the 'Next' button and advance to the next level of play, there is no going back until you finish all 25 levels. In fact, as far as I can determine, there is no 'New Game' button either. So even if you wanted to begin a new game you cannot do so. The only way to begin again back at level 1, as far as I know, would be to complete all 25 levels of play.

  • At the beginning of the game, all 52 cards are dealt face up to 13 stacks in overlapping style.
  • There are also 4 foundations at the top, one for each suit.
  • Only the bottom card of each stack can be moved.
  • To move a card either double click it, or drag it with your mouse.
  • You can move a card from one stack to another if the card is smaller than the other card by one, regardless of suit.
  • You can place a King on an empty space.

  • The game sounds may be turned on or off by clicking the Sound button located near the upper left corner of the game screen.
  • Click the 'Restart' button to start a new game.

Bakers Dozen Solitaire Playing Tips:
  • Do not click the 'Give Up' button. It serves no useful purpose, at least that I can see. You will simply end up needing to refresh the page if you want to play another game. So, if your intent is to play another game, just click the 'Restart' button instead.

Richard's Rating: 3 out of 5.

Comments: Depending on the deal you receive, Bakers Dozen Solitaire can be very challenging, or sometimes somewhat easy to win, but it always manages to be fun.
