Sudoku Eastern Wisdom

Game Description: Play the classic game of sudoku.

How to Play Sudoku Eastern Wisdom:
  • Select your level of difficulty: easy, medium, or hard.
  • The goal in sudoku is to place numbers on the board so that all rows, columns, and colored 3x3 sections contain the numbers 1 to 9 with no repetition.
  • Each game begins with some numbers already in place (the black numbers).
  • Black numbers cannot be changed.
  • Fill all of the remaining squares with a colored number from 1 to 9.
  • To fill a square with a number, click on the square. Then from the pop up menu, click on the number you wish to insert.
  • If you previously have inserted a colored number in a square and you want to change that number, but you are currently undecided about which number you want, you can return the square back to blank until you are ready to decide. To do this, click on the square. Then click the blank square from the pop up menu.
  • Should you repeat a number in any row, column, or colored 3x3 section Sudoku Eastern Wisdom will alert you by placing a large red 'X' on all squares where you have a repetition. This means you will have to make changes to one or more of your colored numbers.
  • Colored numbers can be changed as many times as you need until you solve sudoku.

Sudoku Eastern Wisdom Game Options:
  • The background music may be turned on or off by clicking the sound button located at the lower right corner of the game screen.
  • You can change the game screen background anytime by clicking any of the 5 scene buttons located at the bottom of the game screen.
  • If you want to take a break, click the 'pause' button located at the top of the game screen. Read the words of 'Eastern wisdom.' Click 'play' when you are ready to resume the game.
  • If you want to quit the game, click the 'return' button located at the top right corner of the game screen. Then click 'yes'. This will return you to the main menu where you may begin a new game.

Sudoku Eastern Wisdom Playing Tips:
  • If you are new to sudoku, begin with the easy level. If you are an experienced sudoku player, play either the medium or hard levels for a greater challenge.
  • It is easier to start filling in the board from rows, columns, and 3x3 sections where the maximum numbers are already known.
  • When deciding what number should go in a square, you must check to see what other numbers are already in that square's row, column, and 3x3 section. It is best if you can be 100% certain of your decision before you insert a number into a square. Sometimes, you may have to take an 'educated guess' when you may be only 75% to 80% sure. But, of course, there would still be that 20 to 25 percent chance that you could be wrong!
  • Remember, just because you do not initally get a red 'X' after inserting a number, this does not necessarily mean you are right. You can still get a red 'X' on that square as you insert more numbers on the board.

Richard's Rating: 4 out of 5.

Pro: I have been looking for a good sudoku game to bring to Richard's Game Reviews for quite some time. Sudoku fans rejoice. The search is over! Sudoku Eastern Wisdom has everything I wanted... and more. The numbers are large and easy to read. The graphics are clever. The 5 backgrounds are beautiful. If you are already a sudoku fan, or would like to learn the game, you will definitely enjoy Sudoku Eastern Wisdom.

Hidden Objects Room 2

Hidden Objects Room 2
Game Description: In Hidden Objects Room 2 there are four rooms with hidden objects. Each room has ten hidden objects, so there are a total of forty hidden items in all. Score 100 points for each hidden object you find and click. But be careful, because you will lose 30 points each time you click anywhere other than on a hidden object. Points will also be deducted for time taken after you finish the game. So the less time you take, the higher you will score. Good luck!

How to Play Hidden Objects Room 2:
  • Click the 'Play' button.
  • Use your mouse to click on the hidden objects.
  • The objects you need to find are listed at the bottom of the game screen.
  • Each time you successfully find a hidden object it will disappear from the screen.
  • Find all 10 objects to advance to the next level.
  • There are 4 levels of play.

Hidden Objects Room 2 Scoring:
  • Earn 100 points each time you click on a hidden object.
  • Lose 30 points each time you click anywhere other than a hidden object.
  • A perfect score would theoretically be 4,000 points. 4,000 points, however, is impossible to achieve because Hidden Objects Room 2 always deducts points for time taken. So even if you do manage to find all 40 objects without making a mistake, you still will be unable to score a perfect 4,000 points. (In fact, if you take a look at the leaderboard below you will see, at least at the time I published this, that the highest score so far is 3,985 points. And that awesome score has only been achieved two times). Remember, the less time you take to complete the entire game, the fewer points you will lose. So the idea is to find all 40 hidden objects as fast as you can, while making as few mistakes as possible to achieve the highest score you can.

Play Hidden Objects Room 2 on Full Screen

Please Note: Before playing Hidden Objects Room 2 in Full Screen mode, you may want to take a moment, or two, to read my review. Then, after playing your game, simply click the back button on your browser to return to this page.

Hidden Objects Room 2 Game Options:
  • The music may be turned on or off by clicking the microphone icon located at the bottom right corner of the game screen.

Hidden Objects Room 2 Playing Tips:
  • Do play Hidden Objects Room 2 on full screen. It will be much easier to find some of the smaller objects.

Hidden Objects Room 2 Walkthrough:
  • If you would like to see the solution to all four levels, here is the Hidden Objects Room 2 video walkthrough from YouTube. This video plays extremely fast. So if you would prefer to see still pictures of each level solution, I have created my own original pictures that you may see here.

Richard's Rating: 3 out of 5.

Comments: This is certainly one of the easier hidden object games you will find. All of the objects are large enough to easily be seen. Some are in plain sight. Others are camouflaged by color. A nice mix! Even after you finally do figure out where all 40 hidden objects are located the game can still continue to be fun, because the challenge now becomes to see how quickly you can find and click on all of the 40 hidden objects without making a single mistake and try to see how high you can score on the Hidden Objects Room 2 leaderboard.

ZnemChess

Game Description: Play chess against the computer.

How to Play ZnemChess:
  • You have the White pieces at the bottom. White moves first.
  • The computer has the Black pieces.
  • To begin your turn, click on the square of the chess piece you want to move. (Do not click on the piece itself, or nothing will happen. Click on it's square).
  • Once you click on a square of any White chess piece, the board will light up. The square that you clicked will light up and all of the possible squares to where the piece may be moved will also light up showing an orange border around them. (If you click on the square of one of your White pieces that is ineligible to move only it's square will light up. No other squares will light up. That is, no squares with an orange border will light up because the piece has nowhere to move).
  • If you change your mind you may click on a different chess square. Otherwise, complete your turn by clicking on any lighted square that has an orange border. (If a chess piece occupies the square to which you want to move, do not click on the chess piece itself because nothing will happen. Click on it's square).
  • You and the computer take turns until someone wins, or the game ends in a draw.
  • Standard chess rules apply. However, ZnemChess does not recognize the en passant capture by a pawn.
  • ZnemChess does allow you to castle but only on the King's side. It does not seem to recognize castling on the Queen's side. Also, when you click on the King's square to castle on the King's side, the actual space to which the King will move in castling does not light up. Instead the Rook's square lights up. To complete the castling move on the King's side, click on the Rook's square and the King will move to the square next to the rook's square as it should.

Play on Full Screen

Please Note: Before playing ZnemChess in Full Screen mode, you may want to take a moment, or two, to read my review. Then, after playing your game, simply click the back button on your browser to return to this page.

ZnemChess Playing Tips:
  • ZnemChess can move it's pieces very quickly. So quickly, in fact, you sometimes may not be able to see the piece move. So, to verify that ZnemChess has actually made it's move and it is your turn again, click on the square of one of your White chess pieces. If the board lights up, you will know it is your turn to move again.

Richard's Rating: 3 out of 5.

Pro: ZnemChess is a fun chess game to play. It is smart enough to recognize and capitalize on a major blunder.

Con: ZnemChess is rather easy to beat. Too easy in my opinion. The game has absolutely no sound at all. And it would have been nice if the game displayed each players' moves in a side panel and also displayed the captured pieces like Flash Chess 3 does.

5 Spots

Please Note: I apologize if the 5 Spots game is not working. I checked at several other websites, and the same thing is happening there too. The problem with the game is internal, so as a game publisher, there is really nothing I can do. I am going to leave the game up, and hopefully it will begin to work as it should at some point. In the meantime, please check out some of the other games I have on my site.

Game Description: There are two pictures with 5 differences. Find the 5 differences before the time runs out.

How to Play 5 Spots:
  • Click the Start button.
  • Find the 5 things that are different between the two pictures.
  • Move your mouse and click on the spot where things are different. (For each difference you find, you only need to click on one of the pictures - either the left or right picture, but not both).
  • Click on all 5 differences before time runs out to advance to the next level.
  • There are 15 pictures used in the game. The differences are selected at random. So it's never the same game twice!

5 Spots Playing Tips:
  • If time starts to run out and you get stuck, just start clicking at random... you may get lucky!

Richard's Rating: 3 out of 5.

Pro: 5 Spots is fun and quite challenging.

Con: There seems to be no way to control the game sounds, so you will have to adjust your computer speakers.

Parking Space

Game Description: Park the car as accurately as possible into the marked space without hitting any obstacles and other cars before the time runs out.

How to Play Parking Space:
  • Use your 4 arrow keys to steer your car.
  • Your goal is to get the car safely into the marked parking spot before time runs out.
  • You lose 1 life each time you hit an obstacle or another car, or when time expires.
  • The game ends when you lose your last life.

Parking Space Game Options:
  • The game sounds may be turned on or off by clicking the microphone icon located at the bottom of the game screen.
  • You may pause the game by clicking the Pause icon also located at the bottom of the game screen.

Richard's Rating: 3 out of 5.

Comments: Parking Space is quite fun once you get the hang of it. I am so glad that real driving is easier than this game, because I wouldn't be able to afford auto insurance!

Oil Worm

Game Description: Guide your Oil Worm over the hills and through the scary forest.

How to Play Oil Worm:
  • The game instructions are available in English and one other language. I apologize for not knowing what the second language is.
  • If you speak English, click the 'English' button to go to the next game screen.
  • If this is your first time playing Oil Worm, click the 'New Game' button to begin.
  • If you have played Oil Worm before here on Richard's Game Reviews, and you have a saved game, you may continue playing your saved game by clicking the 'Continue' button, or you may begin a new game by clicking the 'Clear Data' button located at the lower left corner of the game screen.
  • Like all worms your Oil Worm will crawl on the ground most of the time. Crawling is automatic. The only movement you control is when to make your Oil Worm jump.
  • There are two ways to make your worm jump: You can use your Up arrow. Or, you can click your left mouse button as long as your mouse pointer remains within the game screen.
  • Your goal is to guide your oil worm through the forest while collecting stars and avoiding obstacles.
  • The obstacles to avoid are: falling into an orange abyss, running into fire, and running into a ghost.
  • You must jump over each orange abyss and each fire.
  • To avoid the ghosts you can either jump over them, or since they float, you can sometimes go under them. You will encounter the ghosts on levels 6 and 7.
  • Each time you fail to avoid an obstacle you lose oil from your oil can.
  • You will add oil to your oil can when your worm runs into one of the small oil cans scattered throughout the game.
  • Oil will also be added to your can when you successfully complete each level.
  • Watch your oil can level displayed at the upper left corner of the game screen. If your oil can runs dry... the game ends! As long as you have oil remaining in your can the game continues.
  • Earn 2 points for collecting silver stars. Earn 5 points for collecting gold stars.
  • Earn bonus points for completing a level quickly.
  • Earn enough points to reach the next level before you run out of oil.
  • Oil Worm has 7 fun levels of play.
  • After you finish a level you may click the 'Quit' button to save your Oil Worm game. Then, later when you come back to Richard's Game Reviews, just click the 'Continue' button to resume your saved game.

Oil Worm Game Options:
  • The game sounds may be turned on or off by clicking the microphone icon located at the upper right corner of the game screen.
  • You may pause the game by clicking the pause button located near the upper right corner of the game screen, just to the left of the microphone icon.

Oil Worm Playing Tips:
  • When you see a bubble try to land on it. Your worm will bounce from bubble to bubble and will not fall into the abyss. This is especially important when there is a very wide abyss. The only thing you need to do is land on that first bubble. The rest of the bounces will happen automatically.

Richard's Rating: 3 out of 5.

Comments: I really like Oil Worm. Yes, it is rather easy to get through all 7 levels. But, it is so fun watching that worm bounce on those bubbles!

Word Search

Game Description: Play the classic game of word search.

How to Play Word Search:
  • There are 17 different word search puzzles for your solving pleasure.
  • Click the purple arrows on the top right of the game screen to select your puzzle category.
  • Once you find the puzzle you want to play, click the 'Click Here to Begin Game' button.
  • All of the words you need to find are listed on the right side of the game screen.
  • When you find a word, use your mouse to click and drag through the letters to clear the word from the word list.
  • The puzzle is completed once all words have been found!

Richard's Rating: 3 out of 5.

Pro: I have been looking for a really good word search game to bring to Richard's Game Reviews for quite a while. What is so great about this particular word search game is this: Every time each puzzle loads you get a different scramble. So, you always get a different puzzle. Outstanding!

Forty Thieves Solitaire

Game Description: Try to build the 8 foundation piles from Ace to King of the same suit.

How to Play Forty Thieves Solitaire:
  • Forty Thieves Solitaire is played with 2 full decks of cards (minus the jokers)
  • 10 piles of 4 cards each are dealt face up by rows. These 10 piles are called the tableau. The cards in the tableau overlap so you may see them.
  • Of the remaining cards, 63 are dealt face down forming the stock pile (the upper left pile) and 1 card is dealt face up to the right of the stock pile. That card is the first card in the waste pile.
  • There are 8 foundation piles at the upper right.
  • Your goal is to build each foundation pile from Ace to King of the same suit.
  • Move cards by dragging them with your mouse. If you accidently make an illegal move the card will snap back to it's original position.
  • You may only move one card at a time. Groups of cards cannot be moved.
  • The only cards that may be moved are the uppermost card of each pile and the top card on the waste pile.
  • A card may only be moved to a tableau pile (the middle 10 piles) if that card is the same suit and ranks one lower. For example, the 7 of spades may only be placed on an 8 of spades in the tableau. A king cannot be placed on an ace.
  • Aces should be moved to a foundation pile as they become available. Each ace has a prearranged place. For instance, the ace of hearts would be moved to either of the two spaces reserved for an ace of hearts.
  • Any movable card may be moved to a foundation pile if that card is the same suit and ranks one card higher. For example, the 2 of spades would be placed on the ace of spades. The 3 of spades would be placed on the 2 of spades and so forth.
  • Any movable card may be placed in any blank space at anytime.
  • Click the stock pile (the upper left pile) to release the next card to the waste pile.
  • You can only go through the stock pile one time. When you have used all of the stock cards, and you still cannot put all of the cards on the foundation, then you lose the game. Click the 'Give Up' button to play again.
  • You earn 500 points for each card you are able to place on the foundation.

Forty Thieves Solitaire Game Options:
  • The game sounds, which are minimal, may be turned on or off by clicking the microphone icon located at the lower right on the game screen.

Forty Thieves Solitaire Playing Tips:
  • Since I am brand new to Forty Thieves Solitaire I can't give you much advice as far as strategy is concerned. However, I have learned one thing and that is this. Be deliberate with your play because once a move is made it cannot be undone.

Richard's Rating: 4 out of 5.

Pro: Forty Thieves Solitaire is probably one of the toughest, if not the toughest, card game to win. But it certainly is fun to try!

Con: It would have been helpful if the cards in the waste pile would overlap so you could see them all. This would definitely help in planning moves. (You can move the top card in the waste pile which allows you to peek at the next card down, but it is impossible to see anything lower than that). Unless you have a photographic memory, you are going to forget which cards are buried in the waste pile and their order. I suppose you could write down the cards as they are covered in the waste pile, but that's simply too much work for me.

Balloon Popper

Game Description: Use the sun to pop some balloons!

How to Play Balloon Popper:
  • Once the game fully loads, click the 'New Game' button.
  • You begin the game with 5 lives.
  • Move the rotating sun figure around the board with your mouse to pop balloons.
  • The more balloons you can pop, the higher your score!
  • You lose one life each time a balloon reaches the top of the game screen.
  • The game ends when you lose your last life.

Balloon Popper Game Options:
  • Balloon Popper has a mute button located in the lower left corner of the game screen. I am not sure if this control works. (I couldn't get it to work for me). So, you may have to adjust your speakers.

Balloon Popper Playing Tips:
  • Try to pop the balloons as soon as they come up from the bottom rather than waiting until they get part way up.
  • Use a sweeping motion back and forth with good wrist action.

Richard's Rating: 2 out of 5.

Pro: Balloon Popper has nice graphics and sound effects. It is a decent game to play on a short break.

Con: None.

Hexa Connect

Game Description: Connect all hexagons by swapping colors.

How to Play Hexa Connect:
  • Click the 'Play' button to begin the game.
  • Click the colored buttons at the bottom of the game screen to change colors.
  • Each level has a limited number of moves (shown at the bottom of the game).
  • If you are able to change all hexagons to a single color before you run out of moves, you advance to the next level.
  • Should you fail to change all hexagons to a single color before you run out of moves... it's game over!

Hexa Connect Game Options:
  • Click the musical note icon, located at the lower right corner of the game screen, to turn the background music on or off.

Hexa Connect Playing Tips:
  • There are two kinds of hexagons in this game: hexagons that have already been connected to the starting point, and hexagons that have yet to be connected. To distinguish between the two, look closely. Hexagons that are connected have inner markings. They look like a 3-dimensional cube. Hexagons that have yet to be connected do not have inner markings. They look flat and appear one-dimensional.
  • When you click on a colored button at the bottom of the game screen two things happen. One, this changes all of the connected hexagons to that color. And two, it also connects all single or groups of hexagons that border the connected hexagons when they are the same color as the colored button.
  • Look for large groups of hexagons to connect with.
  • When you can take out an entire color with one move, this is almost always a good move.
  • This is a game of strategy and requires a 'good eye.' So, plan your moves carefully.

Richard's Rating: 4 out of 5.

Pro: Hexa Connect is quite fun and challenging, especially when you advance to the higher levels. Each time you play the game, each level will be different than before. This keeps things interesting.

Con: It's a shame that you only get one chance at each level. It is somewhat frustrating when you advance far in the game, and you fail a level, you have to begin the game all over again back to Level 1. It would have been nice if you got, perhaps, 3 chances per level.

Architecture Puzzle

Please Note: If Architecture Puzzle does not load properly, I apologize. If this should be the case, please realize that this is an internal problem with the game itself, and as a game publisher there is nothing I can do about it. The reason I mention this is because I am currently reviewing all of my game posts, and at least for today, the game refused to load as it should. Hopefully, this is just a temporary situation. Of course, there are lots of other games for you to play here on Richard's Game Reviews.

Game Description: There are four different jigsaw puzzles to solve.

How to Play Architecture Puzzle:
  • Click the 'Start new game' button.
  • Click on one of the four pictures to solve.
  • Use your mouse to drag the jigsaw pieces into position to form each picture.

Architecture Puzzle Playing Tips:
  • Each jigsaw piece is already facing in the right direction. The pieces do not rotate.
  • When two pieces fit correctly, they will visually 'snap' together (though there is no audible snapping sound).
  • To test if two pieces actually fit, try dragging them. If they drag together, then they fit.
  • Sometimes you may think a puzzle piece is in the correct position when it actually is not. It is a good idea to occasionally drag the entire puzzle slightly in one direction. If a piece is not actually connected, it will not move with the rest of the pieces. So you can clearly see your mistake.

Richard's Rating: 2 out of 5.

Pro: These are pleasant puzzles to solve... not too easy, and not too hard.

Con: None.

Sneaky's Road Trip Philadelphia

Game Description: Sneaky is going across country, this time he is in Philadelphia. There are several hidden items that need to be found. Use your magnifying glass to take a closer look!

How to Play Sneaky's Road Trip Philadelphia:
  • All of the items you must find are listed on the left side of each game screen.
  • Click on the magnifying glass to turn it on or off. You can use the magnifying glass at any time.
  • When you find an item, click on it with your left mouse button.
  • Try not to click anything other than items or you will be penalized 5 seconds.
  • The faster you can find all of the items the higher you will score!
  • Click the 'Pause' button at any time to take a break and rest your eyes. To resume, click the 'Play' button.
  • Once you find all of the items you can move on to the next level.
  • There are 5 fun-filled levels of play.

Sneaky's Road Trip Philadelphia Playing Tips:
  • Remember to search near the edges of the pictures, because sometimes the hidden objects can be found there.
  • I will give you one extra hint on Level 1, because that fifth crystal is so very hard to find. It is, perhaps, the hardest item to find in the entire game. The last crystal on Level 1 is found on the white building next to the telephone pole on the right side of the street. It is located on this building just under the telephone wire where the wire crosses the building. You will likely need to use your magnifying glass to find it.

Sneaky's Road Trip Philadelphia Walkthrough: If you would like to see the solution to all five levels of Sneaky's Road Trip Philadelphia, here are the links. I suggest that you just take a quick peek, and then try to do it on your own. Then if you get stuck again, go ahead and take another look.

Richard's Rating: 4 out of 5.

Pro: Sneaky's Road Trip Philadelphia is marvelous! Yes, it is quite challenging to find every item... and very fun too, I must say. I assure you every item really is there. If you want to take a peek at the solution I have the walkthrough to all 5 levels right here on Richard's Game Reviews. You may find it kind of fun to just take a quick peek at the answers and then get back to the game. You will find the links at the end of this post. Have fun!

Con: Since this is one of the older Sneaky Road Trip games, there is no control that allows you to turn off the background music or sound effects. So, you will need to adjust your speakers accordingly. Did you notice, by the way, a funny mistake about this game? If you look at the upper left corner of each of the five puzzles, you will see the words 'New York' instead of 'Philadelphia.' I just thought it was a somewhat funny observation to point out!

IAFish

Game Description: You are a fish. Eat smaller fish and worms to score points and grow bigger. Avoid fish bigger than you!

How to Play IAFish:
  • Use your mouse to move your fish.
  • The object of the game is to score as many points as possible by eating fish smaller than you and worms.
  • Simply guide your fish into something you would like your fish to eat.
  • At the top of the display is an area which shows you how healthy your fish is and also your fish's karma level.
  • You'll score higher points by keeping your fish's karma level as high as possible.
  • At the top right of the display is 7 fish indicators that show you what your fish is interested in eating. Your karma level will be affected by what you do when these indicators are active.
  • If your karma level drops too low, it will start affecting your fish's health.
  • Every time your fish comes into contact with a larger fish, your fish's health will decrease.
  • The game is over when your fish's health becomes too low.

IAFish Game Options:
  • The music and game sounds may be turned on or off by clicking the musical note icon, or the sound icon, located at the upper left corner on the game screen. (You must click these before you click the Start button on the main game screen. Once you click Start, these options are no longer accessible and your only option would be to adjust your speaker volume.)

IAFish Playing Tips:
  • Although the game instructions don't specifically say so, eating worms seems to really boost your fish's karma. So my advice is to eat as many worms as you can as well as smaller fish.

Richard's Rating: 4 out of 5.

Comments: I found IAFish to be quite fun. What I especially like about IAFish is that, unlike similar fish games, when your fish comes in contact with a larger fish once it isn't automatically game over. In most instances, depending on the health status of your fish, your fish can recover and grow stronger. A very nice touch!

Hearts Card Game

The Hearts Card Game has been moved to my companion blog at http://hearts-card-game.blogspot.com/. You may play it there. Thanks.

Addiction Puzzle

Game Description: Addiction Puzzle has ten different 30-piece jigsaw puzzles to solve.

How to Play Addiction Puzzle:
  • Addiction Puzzle is played using your left mouse button.
  • Click the 'start the game' button.
  • Preview each of the ten jigsaws by clicking the forward and back arrows on the game screen.
  • When you decide which puzzle you want to solve, simply click on its image. (You may also let Addiction Puzzle select your puzzle for you by clicking the Random puzzle screen. The Random puzzle screen comes up after the last picture).
  • Drag each puzzle piece onto the playing field to where you believe it should go.
  • Sometimes before you drag a piece you may need to rotate the piece so it will be in the proper position. Click on a puzzle piece, one or more times, to rotate it 90 degrees clockwise with each click.
  • You earn 50 points for each puzzle piece you place in the correct position. It must also be rotated correctly. That is, it cannot be upside down, sideways and so forth.
  • You lose 50 points each time you incorrectly place a puzzle piece. However, your score can never go below zero.
  • A perfect score is 1500.
  • There is no time limit. So, take as long as you wish. (As far as I can tell there seems to be no bonus points for completing the puzzle fast).

Addiction Puzzle Game Options: All of the game options are accessed by clicking the Options button located at the right side of the game screen. Each game option may be turned on or off by clicking the little button in front of each option. A black button means the option is turned off. A yellow button means the option is turned on. The game options act independently. So, you may turn on as many as you wish. After you select your game options, simply move your mouse away from the game screen, or towards the center of the game screen, and the Options menu will automatically close. The game options are as follows:
  • Show Grid. (Shows the outline of each puzzle piece).
  • Show Image. (Shows the actual image of the puzzle).
  • Easy Mode. (When easy mode is on, Addiction Puzzle will display a square that shows you where to place each puzzle piece as you hover over it with your mouse. You may still need to rotate each piece).
  • Play Music. (Turns the backgound music on or off).
  • Play Sound. (This option is supposed to turns the sound effects on or off. However when I tried it, the sound effects always remained on even when they were supposed to be off).
  • Main Menu. (Takes you back to the main menu).

Richard's Rating: 3 out of 5.

Comments: There are two things I really appreciate about Addiction Puzzle. The first thing is all of the game options. You have the ability to make your puzzle as easy or as difficult as you wish. You can make this puzzle very easy by turning on the Show Grid, Show Image, and the Easy Mode options. Or, if you want a really good challenge, try to get a perfect score of 1500 with all of these options turned off. Believe me, it is not easy! Or, you may choose to show only one or two of these options. The choice is yours. The second thing I like about Addiction Puzzle, unlike Puzzle Maniax which drove me nuts, is that there is no time limit. If you are playing for a high score you can take as much time as you want to study the board. And, if you could care less about your score, with 10 different jigsaws Addiction Puzzle is certainly a nice way to spend some time.

Tripeaks Solitaire

Game Description: Move all cards from the playing field to the discard pile before all cards in the pack are exhausted.

How to Play Tripeaks Solitaire:
  • Each level begins with some cards face down (the pack), 1 card face up immediately to the right of the pack (the discard pile), and numerous cards with some face up and some face down (the playing field.)
  • The goal of Tripeaks Solitaire is to move the entire playing field unto the discard pile before the pack runs out of cards. (You will always know how many cards remain in the pack because this number is displayed on the top of the pack.)
  • A card may be moved from the playing field unto the discard pile when it is one card higher or lower. For example if the discard pile shows a 5, any 6 or any 4 may be moved from the playing field unto the pile.
  • Build sequences until the playing field is clear. For instance: 3, 2, A, K, Q, J, 10, J, Q, K, A, 2, 3, 4, 5, 4, 3... The order can be ascending, descending or both.
  • Use your left mouse button to move a card from the playing field to the discard pile by clicking on it. (The card will automatically move as long as it is eligible to do so.)
  • When you run out of moves from the playing field, click the pack. This will automatically overturn the top card from the pack and place that card face up on the discard pile and play begins again.
  • Anytime you need help you may click the Hint button and Tripeaks Solitaire will vibrate a card. This will be a card from the playing field should you have an eligible move. Otherwise, it will vibrate the pack indicating you have no moves remaining and you must deal the next card from the pack.
  • You will earn extra points for longer sequences.
  • Click the Undo button to undo your last move. You may click the Undo button as many times as you wish in a row, to undo the last several moves should you wish to do so. However, each time you click the Undo button you will lose points. Also, if you have a long sequence going (which will earn you extra points for each card,) clicking the Undo button breaks the sequence.
  • Collect butterflies. When a card marked with a butterfly is on top of the discard pile and you are able to make a play on this card a nice thing happens. The butterfly will actually fly off of the card and land near the lower left corner of the game screen. If you are observant, you will notice the number of butterflies you have collected is displayed as a number on the bottom leaf in the lower left corner. A butterfly can be used at anytime to remove any card from the playing field. To use a butterfly first click the butterfly, then click the card you wish to remove. (Note: the card will only be removed from the playing field. It will not go to the discard pile where you can build on it.) All unused butterflies carry over to the next round, whether you get to the next level or you need to repeat the level you are on.
  • A card marked with a magnolia is a wild card. Any card can cover a magnolia and a magnolia may cover any card.
  • If you are able to remove all cards from the playing field before the pack runs out you win the level, and you go to the next level. Should you fail, as far as I have been able to determine, you may repeat any level an unlimited amount of times until you succeed.
  • There are 80 levels of play.
  • Tripeaks Solitaire will save your game automatically. As long as you use the same computer and come back to Richard's Game Reviews you should have no trouble picking up right where you left off.

Tripeaks Solitaire Game Options:
  • The game sound or background animation may be turned on or off. To access these controls first click the Main Menu button located at the lower right corner of the game screen. (Tripeaks Solitaire will always ask you if you want to save your game before you exit to the Main Menu. You must click 'Ok'). Then, click the Options button on the Main Menu screen.

Tripeaks Solitaire Playing Tips:
  • Face down cards on the playing field will be revealed when all cards on top of them are played. If you have a choice of cards to play, always play the card that will result in the greatest number of other face down cards being revealed. For instance, if you have three eights available to play and the first eight when overturned will uncover two cards, the second eight would reveal one card, and the third eight would reveal no card; you would choose the first eight. The quicker you can get more cards turned over the better, because this gives you more playing possibilities.
  • When you have a card marked with a magnolia on the playing field I think it is probably better to play it immediately, especially if it will reveal any cards underneath.

Richard's Rating: 3 out of 5.

Pro: Tripeaks Solitaire is quite fun with absolutely beautiful graphics and animation. This is a very nice game to relax with!

Con:
  • Because, apparently, you may repeat any level as many times as you need to, Tripeaks Solitaire lacks some excitement. I can understand, and agree with the concept, that in a game that has 80 levels you would not wish to penalize someone by making them start again from the beginning should they fail a level once. and waste all of that effort. But, I think there should have been some sort of a cutoff point and not have unlimited tries. I should point out however that when you do fail a level you do lose some points. So, for people who are trying to get a top score perhaps this is incentive enough?
  • This game can get somewhat monotonous level after level. It would have been nice if a few new elements could have been introduced throughout the game.
  • Tripeaks Solitaire has a lot of ads even for a game with 80 levels. There are not, thank goodness, ads after every level. But, there are enough to be slightly irritating. At least the ads are short in duration and you always have the option to skip any ad, should you wish, before it runs it's full length.
  • The game may load slow at the beginning, and sometimes when a new level begins. Of course, everything is running slow on my PC these days. So, maybe you won't even notice.

Other Games: If you enjoy Tripeaks Solitaire you may also want to play The Ace of Spades 2.
