Drakojan Skies Mission 2

Game Description: You must lead your fellow team of warriors of the Omega Squadron and prevent the enemy from taking control of the underwater museum in this action-adventure game.

How to Play Drakojan Skies Mission 2:
  • Okay, here's the deal. I have only been able to successfully complete the first 2 levels of Drakojan Skies Mission 2. So, I will give you a quick run-down for those 2 levels. For the rest of the levels you can have fun figuring them out for yourself!

How to Play Drakojan Skies Mission 2 Level 1 (Side Scroller):
  • Scenario: You are leading your squadron when suddenly you are attacked. Your mission is to fight off your enemies and make it safely to the Fithkara Underwater Museum and prevent your enemies from taking control of the museum.
  • The arrow keys control your spaceship. (There is only 1 ship to control).
  • The 'C' key fires your main weapon.
  • The 'X' key drops bombs.
  • If your ship collides with a 'P' along the way you will receive a new weapon.
  • If your ship collides with an 'H' you will receive a health upgrade.
  • Pay attention to your Hull Integrity which shows the health of your ship. Your Hull Integrity is displayed near the upper left corner of the game. You begin with 5 blue bars and it decreases as your ship is damaged.
  • If you make it to the museum, the Level 1 mission is complete and you go on to Level 2 (First Person Shooter).
  • If your spaceship gets destroyed before you are able to get to the museum the mission is failed and you must repeat Level 1.

How to Play Drakojan Skies Mission 2 Level 2 (First Person Shooter):
  • Scenario: When you get to the Fithkara Underwater Museum you find that the enemy has already landed there and taken over the museum. You must kill all the enemy guards and reclaim the museum to complete this mission.
  • Use your mouse to move your Shooter.
  • Left click to shoot. (Hint: For an accurate shot, position your mouse pointer directly on each guard. Then, click to shoot).
  • The 'R' key reloads your ammo. (Drakojan Skies Mission 2 will alert you when you need to reload).
  • The 'S' key provides a shield.
  • The 'F' key provides a flash light.
  • If you kill all the guards and reclaim the museum you will be presented with a choice. You can replay the game from Level 1, replay Level 2, or you may continue the mission.
  • Frankly, I am not sure if it is even possible to fail Level 2. (I have actually tried. But no matter how many times my Shooter gets shot he never seems to die). If you do somehow manage to fail Level 2, and this is just a guess on my part, I suspect you would have to begin again on Level 1.

Drakojan Skies Mission 2 Playing Tips:
  • Level 1 (Side Scroller): I would say that defense (that is not getting shot) is more important than offense (shooting the enemy). Of course, shooting the enemy is what makes the game fun! So go ahead and shoot. But, just remember, getting through this level depends more on not getting shot.
  • Level 2 (First Person Shooter): This level is very easy. Just remember to position your mouse pointer directly on each guard. Then, left click your mouse to shoot. I don't even bother to use the 'S' key (shield) or the 'F' key (flash light). You will need to use the 'R' key to reload your ammo. By the way, when you come to the end of the hallway it doesn't matter if you turn left or right. Either path will do.

Fairy Solitaire

Game Description: Try to clear the entire board by making matching pairs before time runs out.

How to Play Fairy Solitaire:
  • Click the 'Play' button.
  • Each level begins with some cards face down (the pack), 3 cards face up immediately to the right of the pack (the discard pile), numerous cards scattered around the playing field with some face up and some face down (the board), and a two space placeholder area (the waste pile).
  • The pack and the waste pile appear in various places on each level you play. That is, they are not always displayed in the same area. You can identify the pack because it will always have a yellow border around it. You can identify the waste pile because it will have a golden hinge on each of its two stacks.
  • All cards that are not in the pack, the discard pile, or the waste pile, are part of the board.
  • The goal of Fairy Solitaire is to clear the entire board unto the waste pile before time runs out.
  • The time, level, and score are displayed near the upper left side of the game screen.
  • A card may be moved unto the waste pile by first clicking on the card and then clicking on another card of the same rank. For instance, you can click on a six, then click on any other six and the two sixes will move to the waste pile.
  • Any face up card (except for any card already in the waste pile) may be clicked. This means you can match either two cards from the board, two cards from the discard pile, or match one card from the board with one card from the discard pile.
  • When you run out of matches click the pack (yellow border) and Fairy Solitaire will deal more cards to the discard pile.
  • When all cards from the pack are exhausted click the 'reset' button on the pack (yellow border) to reset the cards in the pack. Then, click the pack again to deal cards back to the discard pile.
  • Click the 'Shuffle' button located at the top of the game to display new cards in the discard pile at any time.
  • Click the 'Undo' button, also located at the top of the game to undo your last move.
  • Should you get stuck (not likely), you may click the 'hint' button located at the top and Fairy Solitaire will show you a move by dimming two cards that you can match.
  • Click the 'Pause' button to pause your game. Click 'Play' to resume.
  • DO NOT click the 'Menu' button at the top. If you do you will lose your score and you have to begin again at level 1.
  • If you are able to move all cards from the board unto the waste pile before time runs out, you will complete the level and move on to the next round. (Remember, you do not have to clear the discard pile... only the board).
  • Should you fail to clear the entire board before time runs out you lose. (Note: Sometimes with you may encounter a situation where it is impossible to complete the level because the card on top will have its matching pair underneath it, and of course there is no way to get to it. When this happens Fairy Solitaire will recognize that you cannot complete the level through no fault of your own but only because of an unlucky deal, and will not penalize you. Instead, it will display the 'Level Completed' screen and you may advance to the next level just as though you had completed the level successfully).
  • Earn extra points by finishing a level quicker.

Fairy Solitaire Game Options:
  • The sound effects may be turned on or off by clicking the musical note icon located at the upper right corner of the game.
  • The music may be turned on or off by clicking the microphone (or bell) shaped icon, also located near the upper right corner of the game just under the muscial note icon.

Fairy Solitaire Playing Tips:
  • Face down cards on the board will be revealed when all cards on top of them are played. If you have a choice of cards to play, always play the card that will result in other face down cards being revealed. For instance, if you have two kings available to play and one of the kings has a hidden face down card underneath it and the other king has no card underneath it, select the one that has the card underneath it. The quicker you can get more cards turned over the better, because this gives you more opportunities to make a match.

Richard's Rating: 3 out of 5.

Pro: Fairy Solitaire has nice sounds and graphics. It is a fun, and certainly pleasant, game to play. It starts out easy, but gets more difficult as you advance through the levels. (Level 15 is a brute!)

Con: There are two small complaints I have about Fairy Solitaire. They really are rather petty complaints. But for some reason I feel compelled to mention them. (Who knows, maybe I am just having a cranky day?) Well, anyway. Here goes. First, it is somewhat bothersome, at least to me, that the pack and waste pile move around from level to level. It sure would have been nice to always have had them in the same place, rather than having to look for them each time. Second, why allow a situation where it is impossible to complete a level then only to be told 'Level Completed.' Somehow that just doesn't sit well with me.

Word Drop

Game Description: Word Drop is a randomly generated word find game with a slight twist. All the letters that you use to form words disappear from the playing field, dropping all letters above them down. Letters will consolidate to the left if a row is depleted. Score more points by forming larger words as well as clearing rows, columns, or even the entire board.

How to Play Word Drop:
  • Try to spell words from 3 to 10 letters long.
  • Click a letter to start a word.
  • Click any touching letter to continue.
  • Click the last letter again to finish a word.
  • If Word Drop accepts your word you will earn points. If your word is unacceptable you will hear a "boing" sound, and you must then try to spell a different word.
  • If you start to spell a word, and then change your mind, simply click anywhere else on the board to begin a new word.
  • As letters are used the remaining letters above drop down.
  • When a column of letters is used up the remaining columns squeeze together.
  • If you can't find any words, press the large shuffle button on the right side to get new letters.
  • Three reshuffles are allowed per game.

How to Score in Word Drop:
  • 3 letter words score 270 points.
  • 4 letter words score 810 points.
  • 5 letter words score 2,430 points.
  • 6 letter words score 7,290 points.
  • 7 letter words score 21,870 points.
  • 8 letter words score 65,610 points.
  • 9 letter words score 196,830 points.
  • 10 letter words score 590,490 points.
  • Clearing rows, columns, or even the entire board will earn you bonus points.

Play Word Drop on Full Screen

Please Note: Before playing Word Drop in Full Screen mode, you may want to take a moment, or two, to read my review. Then, after playing your game, simply click the back button on your browser to return to this page.

Word Drop Game Options:
  • The game sounds may be turned on or off by clicking the microphone icon located on the upper right side of the game screen.
Word Drop Playing Tips:
  • The way to score high in Word Drop is to concentrate on spelling longer words. A single 10 letter word earns you almost six hundred thousand points! A single 9 letter word earns you almost two hundred thousand points! Of course, it is not that easy to find these longer words, but it is well worth it when you can.
  • Chances are you are not going to find a 9 or 10 letter word without first dropping down other letters. This is not that difficult because with Word Drop you will know exactly where the letters will drop. It just takes a little planning. For instance, when you see a combination for a large word you may need to first use up a few letters above in order for the letters you need to drop down. After the letters drop down where you need them, you can then spell that longer word!
  • Make plurals. Word Drop will accept the plural form of a word. With most words in the English language you will simply add the letter 'S' to the end of the word to make it plural. Remember, with Word Drop, just adding one more letter to a word makes a huge difference to your score.
  • Look for common prefixes and suffixes. A prefix occurs at the beginning of a word. Some common prefixes are: anti, auto, com, con, dis, extra, il, im, in, inter, intra, ir, macro, micro, non, pre, pro, sub, syn, trans, tri, and un. A suffix occurs at the end of a word. Some common suffixes are: able, acy, al, ance, ate, dom, ed, ence, er, ful, fy, ible, ic, ical, ify, ing, ious, ise, ish, ism, ist, ity, ive, ize, less, ment, ness, or, ous, ship, sion, and tion. Identifying common prefixes and suffixes can help you form those longer words for higher scores.
  • If you are not sure if Word Drop will accept your word try it anyway. If it turns out that Word Drop will not accept your word no harm is done because Word Drop will not deduct any points from your score when a word is not accepted.
  • Don't forget you get 3 reshuffles per game. So, use them when you feel the time is right.
Richard's Rating: 5 out of 5.

Comments: Word Drop is a fun and challenging word game. It is certainly challenging to find those 9 or 10 letter words. Even the 8 letter words are not that easy to find. I especially like the fact, that there is no time limit. This gives you time to think, and strategize.

Ring Pass Not II

Game Description: Match tiles by either color or symbol to complete a safe magic circle.

How to Play Ring Pass Not II:
  • There are 3 modes of play. Two of these modes are available for the free version of the game, which is the version I have here. 'Classic Mode' is for first-time players. 'Instense Mode' is for experienced players. Hint: Do yourself a huge favor, and begin with 'Classic Mode.' Believe me, 'Classic Mode' will be incredibly challenging when you get to the advanced levels of play. (Please Note: The 'Survival Mode' is locked. It is only available for the paid download premium version, and not the free version of the game that I have here).
  • 4 tiles are dealt at the beginning of each level. You will also see a ring with 8 outer sockets.
  • Use your mouse to drag 8 tiles into the ring, one at a time, placing each tile in an outer socket. (As you place each tile in the ring, a new tile becomes available. You will see the available tiles on the left side of the game screen).
  • Each tile has two wings. Each wing has both a color and a symbol.
  • A triangle inside the ring is called a limiter. Limiters have specific requirements that must be followed when placing your tiles. Limiters are positioned so they always affect two adjacent tiles, and not just a single tile. The requirements of a limiter are varied. For instance. A limiter may require that the wings of the two tiles be the same color, or be the same symbol. Sometimes a limiter may require that the wings of the two tiles be a specific color, or be a specific symbol.
  • Your goal is to complete a safe magic circle by matching the wings of each tile with each adjacent tile in either color or symbol, or both. You must also meet the requirements of the limiters.
  • Once a tile is placed in the ring, it becomes part of the ring and cannot be removed. (Unless you have gained access to a 'RB'... a Red Bomb bonus tool, which does have the power to remove a tile from the ring).
  • Anytime before you place the last tile in the ring, you may rearrange the tiles within the ring by dragging them with your mouse. This flexibility can help you find a solution as new tiles are dealt on the left.
  • If you get stuck you can click the 'Deal Button'. (The 'Deal Button' actually does not look like a button at all. It looks like a blue urn. You will see it directly under the available tiles on the left). The first click deals you 3 new tiles. The second click deals 2. The third, and final click, deals 1.
  • You will see magic tools called 'Bonus Tools' at the bottom of the game screen. 'Bonus Tools' can help you win a level. A 'Bonus Tool' is available if it is lit up. If a 'Bonus Tool' is dimmed, this means it is not currently available. ('Bonus Tools' become available when you make special combinations and earn bonus points). Hover your mouse over each bonus tool to read what it does. To use a 'Bonus Tool' first click on the tool. Then, click on a tile. If you click on a 'Bonus Tool' and then change your mind, and decide you do not want to use it afterall, click anywhere in a blank area of the game screen to cancel.
  • After you successfully complete a level, you must click the glowing 'Cast' button in the center to advance to the next level of play.
  • Ring Pass Not II has 40 levels.
  • You get 3 lives. Each time you fail a level you lose a life. Should you fail a level the game will ask if you want to surrender. Click 'Yes'. Then, click 'Replay level' should you have any lives remaining and Ring Pass Not II will allow you to replay the level you just lost. (If you have lost all 3 lives, you will have to start a new game and start at a score of zero. This does not necessarily mean, however, that you must start again at level 1. Depending on your game progress Ring Pass Not II may allow you to begin your new game on either level 11, or level 21.
  • To save your game, click the 'Menu' button located at the lower right corner of the game screen. Then, click 'Quit and Save.' (Hopefully, this will save your game successfully and you can come back later and continue where you left off).

Play Ring Pass Not II on Full Screen

Please Note: Before playing Ring Pass Not II in Full Screen mode, you may want to take a moment, or two, to read my review. Then, after playing your game, simply click the back button on your browser to return to this page.

Ring Pass Not II Game Options: You will find all of the game options near the lower right corner of the game screen. They are rather small, so look carefully. Here are the options:
  • Click the musical note icon to turn the game sounds on or off.
  • If you are color blind, click the color blind icon to replace colors with color-blind friendly textures.
  • The question mark icon turns the hover tips on or off. (Hint: You will absolutely want to leave the tips turned on).

Ring Pass Not II Playing Tips:
  • If this is your first time playing Ring Pass Not II, definitely play the 'Classic Mode.' Believe me. This game is not that easy. I doubt anyone, when they are still learning the game, will successfully get through all 40 levels on their first attempt. Later, if you get really good, you can then play the 'Intense Mode.'
  • When you place a tile incorrectly, that is, the wing of the tile does not match the adjacent tile wing or the tile disobeys the limiter; Ring Pass Not II will let you know by giving a warning sound, and an animation that resemebles black dust.
  • Before using the 'Deal Button' or any of your 'Bonus Tools', first try rearranging the tiles by dragging them to different positions within the ring. You must do this before putting the last tile in place. Once you put the last tile in place, no more rearranging of the tiles can be made. Many times it may seem that no solution is possible without using the 'Deal Button' or a 'Bonus Tool'. Only when you begin rearranging the tiles will a solution become apparent. If rearranging the tiles does not work, next try the 'Deal Button.' If the 'Deal Button' does not help you find a solution, then start using any of the available 'Bonus Tools.' (The reason you want to try to save your 'Bonus Tools' is because once they are used up, you may not get the same tool again for quite a while, if at all. So, it is important to conserve them as much as possible).
  • If you are not seeing the hover tips when you hover your mouse over the 'Bonus Tools' (these tips explain what each tool will do), click the question mark icon located near the lower right corner of the game screen to turn the hover tips back on.
  • Don't worry if you do not understand many of the rules. Ring Pass Not II does an excellent job of explaining everything as you go along. So, just start playing!

Richard's Rating: 5 out of 5.

Pro: If you want a tough mental challenge and want to excercise your mind, Ring Pass Not II is the perfect game for you. It is simply brilliant! Beautiful animations, wonderful music, and a delightful narration enhance the experience. Take the time to learn this fascinating game, and you will be amply rewarded. Overall, it is an outstanding game of the absolute highest magnitude!

Ice Breakers

Game Description: Help the penguins build their city by playing an entertaining, and a very challenging, Match 3 game. On the left of the board there are little indicators that tell you how many of a particular color you need to match. The color indicators will decrease as you make matches. There are also powerups you can earn to help you win each level. If you are able to empty all of the color indicators before the meter on the left (called the shift) gets all the way to the bottom, the level is completed and you will advance to the next level of play. If the shift gets all the way to the bottom first, you have failed. And you will have the option to begin the game again back at the beginning, or going back only one level. Either way, your score will begin again at zero. There are 35 challenging, and fun-filled levels, to play! Good luck, and have fun!

How to Play Ice Breakers:
  • You are looking to match 3 or more tiles of the same color on the board.
  • Use your left mouse button.
  • Click on 2 adjacent tiles (or use a dragging motion) to attempt to swap their positions to make a match.
  • The tiles will only swap if there is a resulting match of 3 or more in-a-row.
  • On the left of the board there are little indicators that tell you how many of a particular color you need.
  • The color indicators will decrease as you make matches. For example, if the red color indicator says 35 and you match 3 red tiles, the red color indicator will decrease to 32.
  • If you match more than 3 tiles at a time, the blue meter on the left will begin to rise. When the blue meter gets all the way to the top you'll be awarded a special powerup that you can use to affect the game.
  • Your powerups are displayed at the left side of the game. To use a powerup, drag it onto the board with your mouse. Move it to the desired position, and release your mouse to destroy any tiles covered by the powerup.
  • All unused powerups carry over to the next level. You also retain your powerups when a level is failed, and you choose to go back one level.
  • When no matches remain on the board Ice Breakers will let you know, and reset the board immediately. Then, just continue playing as usual.
  • If you are able to empty all color indicators before the meter on the left (the shift) gets all the way to the bottom, the level is completed and you will advance to the next level.
  • If the shift gets all the way to the bottom before you are able to empty all color indicators the level is failed.
  • When you fail a level you have a choice to make. You can go back to the beginning of the game to improve your skills at the lower levels and build back up. Or... you can choose to go back one level and start from there. Either way, your score will be lost and you must start again at zero.
  • There are 35 fun-filled levels of play.
  • Ice Breakers should save your game automatically as long as you come back to Richard's Game Reviews and use the same computer. Just remember to click the 'Resume Game' button and do not click the 'Restart From Beginning' button. (If you should accidentally click the 'Restart From Beginning' button you will permanently lose all of your game progress, with no way to get it back. So, be careful about this!)
  • You can also play Ice Breakers on full screen mode by using the link below the game. Technically, when you play on full screen, you will be leaving my site. However, since the game will still be on the same server all of your game progress will be saved. So you always have the option of playing on regular screen, or full screen. And you can always go back and forth between both modes by using the back button on your browser without losing any of your saved game. That is, as long as you always use the same computer to play.

Play Ice Breakers on Full Screen

Please Note: Before playing Ice Breakers in Full Screen mode, you may want to take a moment, or two, to read my review. Then, after playing your game, simply click the back button on your browser to return to this page.

Ice Breakers Game Options: All game options may be accessed by clicking the 'Menu' button located near the upper left corner of the game screen. After you change your options, click the 'Resume Game' button to continue your game. Here are the main options:
  • Click the 'Game Help' button to review a few of the basic rules.
  • The music may be turned on or off.
  • The game sounds may be turned on or off.
  • The game may be restarted from the beginning.

Ice Breakers Playing Tips:
  • Try to make matches near the bottom of the board when you can. Matches made near the bottom cause many more tiles to drop down as compared to matches made near the top. As more tiles drop down, this will often create unforseen matches and create chain reactions.
  • Watch the color indicators. These will let you know which colors you need to work on the most to complete the level.
  • As with all Match 3 games as you gain experience, you will be better able to control the board. For instance, lets say you need to make a purple match. You may first need to make a match above with some other color tiles in order to move one of the purple tiles into position so you can match it with two other purple tiles. Again, as you gain experience with Match 3, these situations will become very easy to recognize.
  • If you get stuck for a period of time and cannot find a match, Ice Breakers will show you a move with a yellow arrow that will point to a tile you can move to make a match.
  • Try to save your powerups for the more difficult levels.
  • Since Ice Breakers is such a difficult game, if you want to try to get as far as you can with the levels, always choose the option (when you fail a level) to go back only one level, rather than choosing to go back to the beginning of the entire game.

Richard's Rating: 5 out of 5.

Comments: The color indicators are what make Ice Breakers different than your typical Match 3 game. Personally, I think it is a rather ingenious concept. If you like Match 3, Ice Breakers is bound to become one of your favorite games.

Other Games: If you enjoyed playing Ice Breakers, you will probably also enjoy playing Ice Breakers: Penguin Pirates.

TriPeakz

Game Description: Meet the first multiplayer solitaire game on the web... TriPeakz! Play the classic game of tripeaks solitaire and compete against other players from all over the world in real-time!

How to Play TriPeakz:
  • You will need to have Adobe Flash Player 9.0, or later, installed on your computer to play TriPeakz. If you play other games here on Richard's Game Reviews, chances are you already do. But, if not, click here to install.
  • If this is your first time playing TriPeakz, type your player name in the 'New Player' box. (Your player name is the name other people will see when they play you. You will also see their player name. Your player name may be your first name, or any other name you choose). After you type in your player name, click the 'Accept' button.
  • Click the 'Play Online' button.
  • If you see a screen that says 'Instructions', click the 'Close' button to close this screen and begin play.
  • You will see a brief screen that says 'Connecting to Server.' This should only take a few moments.
  • Each level begins with some cards dealt face down near the bottom of the game screen (the pack), 1 card face up immediately to the right of the pack (the discard pile), and numerous cards with some face up and some face down (the playing field). There will also be some 'R' cards dealt to the lower left bottom of the game screen.(More on this later).
  • The goal of TriPeakz is to move the entire playing field unto the discard pile before the pack runs out of cards and, if possible, before your online opponent can do the same to his/her cards.
  • A card may be moved from the playing field unto the discard pile when it is one card higher or lower. For example if the discard pile shows a 7, any 6 or any 8 may be moved from the playing field unto the pile.
  • Build sequences until the playing field is clear. For instance: 3, 2, A, K, Q, J, 10, J, Q, K, A, 2, 3, 4, 5, 4, 3... The order can be ascending, descending or both.
  • Use your left mouse button to move a card from the playing field to the discard pile by clicking on it. (The card will automatically move as long as it is eligible to do so and any face down cards from the field that are freed up will automatically turn face up).
  • When you run out of moves from the playing field, click the pack. This will automatically overturn the top card from the pack and place that card face up on the discard pile and play begins again.
  • Use an 'R' card (near the lower left corner) to remove any card from the playing field. To use an 'R' card, first click on the 'R' card. Then, click on any card from the playing field to remove it. (Note: the card will only be removed from the playing field. It will not go to the discard pile where you can build on it).
  • A few cards have a yellow background. When you make a play on a card with a yellow background, this earns you an additional 'R' card.
  • A card with a large yellow 'J' pictured on it, is a wild card. A wild card can cover any card. And any card can cover a wild card.
  • You can use the 'Undo' button to cancel your last move.
  • Use the 'Hint' button to show you a possible move.
  • If you are able to remove all cards from the playing field before the pack runs out you win the level, and you go on to the next level. Should you fail, you may repeat a level until you succeed.
  • Remember, as far as completing a level is concerned, it does not matter what your opponent does. It only matters what you do. If you clear all of the cards from the field before the pack runs out, you advance to the next level. If you don't, you must repeat the level.

TriPeakz Scoring:
  • At the same time you are playing your game you will see your opponents game in real-time on a separate panel, at the right side of the game screen. Your opponent will also see your game progress on his/her screen.
  • If you are able to complete the level before your opponent does, or if your opponent has already lost, you'll get his score as a bonus. (What this means is, you will get whatever points your opponent had achieved at the exact time you finished. Of course, your opponent will keep playing on his own and still try to win his game. But, by then, you will likely already be playing your next live opponent)!
  • If your opponent is able to complete the level before you do, your opponent will get your score as his or her bonus but you do not lose any points yourself.
  • Sometimes, when you reach the higher levels of play, the server may not be able to find you an online opponent because there is no one available who is playing the same level you are at the exact same time. You can either wait and play later, or just go ahead and play the level yourself without an opponent. You can still collect your own points should you be able to complete the level successfully.

TriPeakz Game Options: The game options may be accessed by clicking the 'Options' button located on the main game screen. After you change the options, click the 'Accept' button to save your changes. The game options are as follows:
  • The sound volume may be set in increments of 10, from 100 down to zero (off).
  • The music volume may also be set in increments of 10, from 100 down to zero (off).
  • The window size button will not function here at Richard's Game Reviews. So, just leave it as it is.
TriPeakz Playing Tips:
  • TriPeakzwill always show you how many cards remain in the pack, and how many 'R' cards you have. So, be aware of this.
  • Each level of TriPeakz will have a different layout. For certain layouts where there are only a couple of cards that cover lots of other cards you may need to use your 'R' cards early in a round to free up more cards. However, if you can keep your 'R' cards until the very end this often can help you win the level and defeat your online opponent.
  • Don't forget to use your wild cards.
  • Use your 'Undo' button. Your 'Undo' button can help you to defeat your online opponent and win a level. So, just remember that it is there to use.
Richard's Rating: 4 out of 5.

Comments: The multiplayer aspect of TriPeakz adds a brilliant, and a whole new element of fun to this traditional solitaire game. If you like tripeaks solitaire, you will absolutely love this game!

Bubblez

Game Description: Enjoy a cool multiplayer version of the classic Bubble Shooter game! You will compete against other players from all over the world in real-time!

How to Play Bubblez:
  • You will need to have Adobe Flash Player 9.0, or later, installed on your computer to play Bubblez. If you play other games here on Richard's Game Reviews, chances are you already do. But, if not, click here to install.
  • If this is your first time playing Bubblez, type your player name in the 'New Player' box.
  • You will shoot bubbles from a shooter by clicking your left mouse button.
  • Your goal is to match three or more bubbles of the same color causing them to explode.
  • If you are able to clear all bubbles from the field before any bubble reaches the bottom you will have successfully completed the level, and you go on to the next level.
  • If any bubble reaches the bottom your score for that level will be zero. You keep the points you already had (before you started the level) and you may repeat the level as many times as you want until you are able to complete the level and advance.
  • Remember, as far as completing a level is concerned, it does not matter what your opponent does. It only matters what you do. If you clear all bubbles from the field before any bubble reaches the bottom you advance to the next level. If any of your bubbles reach the bottom, you must repeat the level.

Bubblez Scoring:
  • At the same time you are playing your game you will see your opponents game in real-time on a separate panel, at the right side of the game screen. Your opponent will also see your game progress on his/her screen.
  • If you are able to complete the level before your opponent does, or if your opponent has already lost, you'll get his score as a bonus. (What this means is, you will get whatever points your opponent had achieved at the exact time you finished. Of course, your opponent will keep playing on his own and still try to win his game. But, by then, you will likely already be playing your next live opponent!)
  • If your opponent is able to complete the level before you do, your opponent will get your score as his or her bonus but you do not lose any points yourself.
  • The scoring for Bubblez is somewhat deceptive. If you become really good at the game you will finish a level quickly and make less points. On the other hand, if you struggle mightily, but eventually win your level you will make tons of points. (Even more than a top notch player who finished quickly and earned bonus points by defeating his online opponent).

Bubblez Game Options: The game options may be accessed by clicking the 'Options' button located on the main game screen. After you change the options, click the 'Accept' button to save your changes. The game options are as follows:
  • The sound volume may be set in increments of 10, from 100 down to zero (off).
  • The music volume may also be set in increments of 10, from 100 down to zero (off).
  • The full screen button, even if turned to 'On', will not function here at Richard's Game Reviews. So, just leave it as it is.

Bubblez Playing Tips:
  • The easiest way to make an accurate shot is to place your mouse cursor on your target bubble. Then shoot.
  • Keep an eye on the next upcoming bubble. Knowing the color of the next bubble can help you strategize.
  • When you play Bubblez what will invariably happen is this. You will get separate strands of bubbles hanging from the top of the game screen. Try to make shots that hit high up on the stands near the top. This will cause all of the lower attached bubbles (no matter what their color) to break off and fall (as long as they are not attached elsewhere). Try to identify the point near the top where the strand is most vulnerable. That is the place to attack assuming you have the right color bubble to shoot and can get a clear shot. Think of it like this. Pretend the bubbles are grapes. When you attack the bottom grapes you can only pick off a few at a time. But, if you can attack at the most vulnerable point high up it is like picking a whole cluster of grapes at once.
  • When you have a colored bubble, and you do not see any place you really want to shoot it, what should you do? The answer is clear. Always shoot it into an existing strand. (If possible, try to shoot it near a single bubble of the same color. Later, you may have the opportunity to match these two bubbles with the next bubble you are shooting). The absolute worst thing you can do is to shoot it all the way to the top of the game screen. Because, if you do, that bubble that missed everything and went all the way to the top is like a seed. It will start a brand new strand and you will have many new bubbles to deal with, which is exactly what you do not want to happen.
  • Learn the bank shot. Often, you may not have a direct shot to your target. So, the best shot can be a bank shot that caroms off the side of the game screen finding its way to your target. You will be amazed at how easy this is with just a little practice.
  • The best way to have the most fun with Bubblez is to concentrate on trying to beat each opponent, and consider your score secondary.

Richard's Rating: 4 out of 5.

Pro: Bubblez would have been just an ordinary game, but the multiplayer aspect elevates it to a fantastic new level!

Con: The scoring system for Bubblez sometimes rewards poor play more than superior play.

Navy Battles

Game Description: Take turns against the computer, and find all of the enemy ships before it find yours.

How to Play Navy Battles:
  • Click the 'Start' button.
  • Position your 7 ships on the game board. There are two ways to position your ships. You may do it yourself by dragging the ships to the map. Double click a ship to rotate it. Or, you may let the computer position your ships for you by clicking the 'Auto Place' button. (If you don't like the computer's positioning you can still move the ships around by dragging and double clicking as much as you want).
  • After you are done positioning your ships, click 'Start.'
  • Your 7 ships are displayed on the left side of the game board. The computer's 7 ships are hidden somewhere on the right side of the board.
  • You will try to find and destroy the computer's fleet of ships before the computer can destroy yours.
  • It is your turn first. After the first turn, you and the computer will take turns until someone wins.
  • When it is your turn, you may use your mouse to click any single square on the right side of the board or you may use any of your available weapons displayed at the top.
  • For an air attack, first click on the airplane. Then, click the area of the board you want to attack. Your 3 airplanes will scatter 2 random shots each (for a total of 6 shots) around the general area where you click the board.
  • For a missle strike, first click the missle (this is the weapon in the middle). Then, click the area of the board you want to attack. Your missle will shoot a 3x3 grid for a total of 9 shots at the area of the board where you click.
  • For a guided torpedo attack, first click the torpedo. Then click anywhere on the computer's side of the board. You torpedo is guaranteed to find one of the computer's ships!
  • Anytime you hit one of the computer's ships you will see a red dot. Keep attacking until you destroy the ship completely. (You will see smoke rise when the ship is completely destroyed).
  • When you miss a target, you will see light blue circles on the squares where you missed.
  • Sometimes when you do not hit one of the computer's ships you may instead hit a new weapon you can use (an additional airplane, missle, or a guided torpedo). This can occur either when you are doing single square attacks by clicking with your mouse or when you are attacking multiple squares with your weapons. For instance, when you use a missle that takes out 9 squares you may find an additional airplane, a guided torpedo or even another missle. You will know this occurs because you will hear a chiming sound and the newly found weapon will appear lit up at the top of your game screen.
  • There are 3 rounds of play. If you win, you advance to the next round.
  • If the computer wins... it's game over!
  • When the game ends, you will have to refresh your page to play again.

Navy Battles Playing Tips:
  • You begin the first round with 2 airplanes, 1 missle, and 2 guided torpedos. The guided torpedo is your most powerful weapon because it will always find at least one of the computer's ships. I like to use my first guided torpedo on my first turn. After I completely destroy the computer's first ship, then I use my second guided torpedo. After I completely destroy the computer's second ship I use the rest of my weapons immediately. One of the things you will want to do is find additional weapons to use. Remember, it is a lot easier to find additional hidden weapons by using other weapons instead of trying to find them with a single mouse click. For instance, the missle takes out 9 squares at a time. So you are 9 times more likely to find an additional weapon with a missle than with a single mouse click. When you find any new weapons, use those weapons immediately too. There is no sense in keeping a weapon and not using it.

Richard's Rating: 4 out of 5.

Pro: There is much more to Naval Battles than you will find in your typical battleships game. The extra weapons are a very nice touch. And the special effects are simply outstanding. The airplanes, missles, and the guided torpedos are super. But, the best special effect of all is when the computer hits one of your ships. I know it is just an optical illusion, but it really feels like my computer is shaking! Hats off to the game developer.

Con: I don't see any volume control (a pet peeve of mine). So, you will have to adjust your computer speakers.
