Game Description: Help the singing wisecracking fisherman catch some fish!
How to Play Fishin' Fever:
- Use your left mouse button to click.
- Select from two fishing locations: Alaska or Arizona.
- Underwater objects are pictured as groups of moving blue dots. Most underwater objects are fish. Sometimes objects are worthless items like an old boot, a bottle, a turtle or a piece of seaweed.
- Position the red cross hair by moving your mouse and then click. The fisherman will cast his line to that exact spot.
- You earn prize money for each fish you catch except for an octopus. (You will be fined $250.00 for each octopus you catch!) There are Bluegill, Trout, Catfish, Bass, Pike, Barracuda, Flounder, Tuna, Hammerhead Shark, Marlin and Grouper.
- To change the type of bait click on the forward and backward arrows on the tackle box.
- You have 5 minutes to help the fisherman earn prize money by catching as many fish as you can before time runs out!
- Occasionally an eagle will fly by. This gives you bonus extra patience and extra time.
- Watch the Patience Level located at the upper right of the game screen. When the fisherman's patience level gets low he will say "I'm gettin' thirsty." When he utters these words click on his juice bottle located at the lower right of the game screen. It is important that you do this immediately or else the game will end prematurely!
Fishin' Fever Playing Tips:
- Remember, when the fisherman says "I'm gettin' thirsty" you need to click on his juice bottle as quickly as possible or else it's game over!
- Do not try to click directly on the underwater objects. Even though these objects move erratically try to judge the speed and direction in which they are moving. Then position your cross hair to where you think the object will be by the time the fisherman casts his line. You will catch many more fish this way!
- I am not sure how much, if any, of an effect it has when you change bait types. It does seem, to me, to have some effect though on the types of fish you may catch.
- Personally I like to fish from the Alaska locale. It just seems like fish may be more plentiful there, and there may be a greater variety on the types of fish to catch.
Richard's Rating: 3 out of 5.
Pro: The best thing about Fishin' Fever! are the antics of the humorous fisherman. What a hoot!
Con: This game could have been so much better if it had levels and you had to earn at least a minimum amount of prize money to reach each new level and the score could have kept accumulating as you went up each level. But, don't get me wrong. Fishin' Fever! is still plenty of fun just the way it is!
