How to Play Spiderman 2 - Web of Words:
- There are three modes of game play: STANDARD, TIMED, and BONUS ONLY. You can also set the difficulty level (choose between 'Easy' or 'Normal') and whether or not to see hints.
- In STANDARD mode: Challenge Doc Ock by climbing buildings and then facing off against him in roof-top bonus rounds.
- In TIMED mode: Spidey needs to climb each building before the timer runs out.
- In BONUS ONLY mode: In a frenzied roof-top confrontation, complete words as fast as possible to knock Doc Ock off the building!
- Spell words by typing or clicking on the letter tiles.
- When you have a word ready, click the SUBMIT button or press the ENTER key.
- The more words you spell the higher Spidey climbs!
- Take too long to spell a word and Doc Ock will attack!
- The game ends when you fail to complete any level.
- After you lose, in order to play the game again, you will need to refresh the page. (If you press the 'Send Score' button the screen will simply turn black, but nothing will happen).
Spiderman 2 - Web of Words Game Options: All of the game options can be found along the top of the game screen. The options are:
- You may click the 'Main Menu' button to return to the main menu and select a different game mode.
- Click the 'Pause' button to pause your game. Click the 'Continue' button to resume play.
- To silence all of the game sounds click the 'Mute' button. Click the 'Sound' button to restore the audio.
- The 'Full Screen' button will not work here on Richard's Game Reviews.
- Typing letters and pressing the ENTER key is much faster than using the mouse.
- Spell longer words for a better score.
- Bonus tiles are earned by spelling words of 4 or more letters.
- You cannot spell the same word more than once in any round.
- The 'Wild' tile can be used as any letter.
- If Spider-Man's red health bar has been decreased by Doc Ock's attacks, when you see a tile with a red heart on it, press your SPACEBAR to restore some of Spidey's health. (If on the other hand, Spidey's health is still at full strength, do not press your SPACEBAR, because you will simply waste a red heart).
- When you see the Spidey Sense tile (it kind of looks like a circular design with two silver wings on it), hit the 1 key and it will automatically spell a high value word. Make sure you keep an eye out for this very special tile, because it can really help out you a lot!
- When Spider-Man is climbing the building, there are challenges in the lower left corner of the game window. Spell words with the same number of letters as there are boxes. Do this the number of times indicated and you will complete the challenge and earn a special tile.
- After you lose, in order to play the game again, remember you will need to refresh the page.
Comments: Spiderman 2 - Web of Words has great graphics and is simply a lot of fun. My favorite game mode is probably the BONUS ONLY mode. Although the first six levels of BONUS ONLY are rather easy and somewhat boring, after you get to about levels 7 or 8 things suddenly get very interesting because you are now required, on many of the words, to fill in more than one letter. Overall, I think Spiderman 2 - Web of Words is a very nice addition to my site.
