Stop The Bus

Game Description: Stop The Bus is a card game where you try to get your cards to add up to 31, or as close to 31 as you can.

How to Play Stop The Bus:

  • After the game loads, click the 'Play' button.
  • Select your character (your face) by clicking the 'Character' button arrows. (The 'Character' button is located near the lower left corner).
  • Decide if you want to play with the 'ShowHelp' turned 'On' or 'Off'. (The 'ShowHelp' button is located near the upper right corner. I suggest, if this is your very first time playing Stop The Bus that you turn the 'ShowHelp' to the 'On' position. The game will do an excellent job of explaining how to play as you go along. On the other hand, if you have played before you will want to set the 'ShowHelp' button to the 'Off' position because it will simply become somewhat of a bother).
  • Select your difficulty: Casual (Easy Opponents), Regular (Average Opponents), or Expert (Challenging Opponents).
  • For each game of Stop The Bus you will play against 3 imaginary computer opponents.
  • Every player begins the game with 3 bus tokens.
  • Stop The Bus uses a standard deck of 52 playing cards.
  • For each round, every player is dealt 3 cards.
  • The aim is to score as close to 31 with 3 cards of a SINGLE SUIT, then stop the bus!
  • Aces score 11.
  • 10's and all picture cards score 10.
  • All other cards in the deck score their regular numerical value. For instance, each 5 is worth 5 points and each 6 is worth 6 points, and so on.
  • You can also score 30 points when you have 3 cards of the same rank (3-of-a-kind). For example, if you have three 2's, or three 8's, or three of any other card you will score 30 points.
  • The bus moves clockwise and stops by each player, indicating it is that player's turn to make a play. When the bus stops by you, it is your turn to make a play.
  • To start your turn, pick-up either the waste card (the face-up card), or a new card from the deck. Make your selection by clicking with your mouse.
  • To complete your turn you must now discard one of your cards by clicking on it. This will leave you with 3 cards in your hand. (The card that you discard will go to the top of the waste pile and will now be eligible for the next player to pick-up if he or she chooses to do so).
  • Once the bus has made one full circle, and each player has had a turn, any player may now 'Stop the Bus' when it is their turn by clicking the stop sign BEFORE they discard a card.
  • After the bus is stopped, each player (except for the player who stopped the bus) gets one more turn to better their hand. After that, the player's show their cards and the scores are compared.
  • The player with the highest score gets to go first in the next round.
  • The player with the lowest score loses one bus token.
  • If there is a tie for the lowest score, nobody loses a token for that round.
  • Any player who loses all 3 tokens is kicked off the bus and is out of the game. (If you get kicked off the bus, this means you have lost and the game ends).
  • Your goal is to be the last remaining player on the bus!

Stop The Bus Game Options:

Stop The Bus Playing Tips:

Comments: Stop The Bus is quite lively and a fun game to play. The sounds and graphics are very clever and certainly add to the overall enjoyment.
