Word Grid

Word Grid
Game Description: Each game begins with a 4 x 4 puzzle grid of 16 letters. Your goal is to form as many words as you can from 3 to 8 letters, within the time limit, by clicking on adjacent letters in horizontal, vertical, or diagonal directions. Your score is based on how many words you can make, and the number of letters in each word. Longer words score more points. If you are able to find every word on the Word Grid list before time runs out, which is extremely difficult to do, you will earn extra bonus points! Have fun, and good luck!

How to Play Word Grid:
  • Each game begins with a 4 x 4 puzzle grid of 16 letters.
  • Your goal is to form as many words as you can from 3 to 8 letters, within the time limit. (The timer is the bar at the top of the game. It moves from right to left).
  • Form words by clicking on adjacent letters in horizontal, vertical, or diagonal directions.
  • When you are forming a word a line will connect the letters, and your proposed word will appear at the bottom.
  • Click the last letter a second time to submit your word.
  • If your word is accepted you will earn points, and your word will appear on the right of the grid where you will see the official Word Grid list for this particular puzzle.
  • Hint: Once you form a word of 5 or more letters, Word Grid will sort your list alphabetically and show you how many words remain to be found on the list by showing a space for each letter in each word.
  • Your score is based on how many words you can make, and the number of letters in each word.
  • Longer words score more points.
  • If you are able to find every word on the Word Grid list before time runs out, which is extremely difficult to do, you will earn extra bonus points!
  • The game ends when you find every word on the Word Grid list, or when time runs out.

Word Grid Game Options: The game options may be accessed by clicking the Options button located at the bottom of the game screen just to the right of the question mark icon. (It kind of looks like a gear shaft). The game options are:
  • The game sounds may be adjusted.
  • The music volume may be adjusted.
  • Full Screen mode may be turned on or off.

Word Grid Playing Tips:
  • Every Word Grid puzzle will have at least one word of 5 or more letters. As soon as you can find an acceptable word of at least 5 letters, Word Grid will sort your list alphabetically and show you how many words remain to be found on the list by showing a space for each letter in each word. If you are clever, and can think quickly, you can use this information to help yourself figure out what some of the missing words are.
  • Word Grid will accept a lot of unusual and trashy type of words such as: ens, ani, nib, and so forth. If you play the game enough times, you will begin to remember what some of these "words" are.

Word Grid Comments: Who knew you could have this much fun with only 16 letters? Even though Word Grid will allow some very questionable words, it is still a terrific game and has become one of my all-time personal favorite games here on Richard's Game Reviews.

Richard's Rating: 4 out of 5.
