Junk Yard

Game Description: Try to get the recyclable items into their correct bins by removing the junk in this fun, but tricky, physics puzzle game. Click on the stuff you want to remove. The rules of gravity will take care of the rest!

How to Play Junk Yard:

• You begin the game with 3 lives. (You lives are shown at the right).
• Each level begins with one or more recyclable items. (Each recyclable item is encircled by a blue bubble).
• At the bottom of each screen you will see 5 recycle bins.
• Each bin has either the picture of a recyclable item or a red X.
• Your goal is to get each recyclable item into its matching bin. (Sometimes, a recyclable item may have more than one matching bin. In those instances, you may get the recyclable into any matching bin).
• Between each recyclable item and its matching bin are pieces of junk.
• To move the recyclable items click on each piece of junk, one piece at a time. As you do, the piece of junk you click on will be removed from the game and the recyclable items and the other pieces of junk will move according to the rules of gravity.
• Need to shake things up? If you do not like the way the items are currently aligned on the screen you can click the white arrow on the right side. This will shake things up and somewhat rearrange the items. (The degree to which the items will move will depend, as always, on the rules of gravity).
• You begin the game with 5 shakes. (The number of shakes you currently have is shown at the right side of the game).
• If you are able to get every recyclable item into its matching bin, you earn points and advance to the next level of play. You also earn one additional shake if you have less than 5 shakes remaining. (If you already have your full complement of 5 shakes, you will not earn an additonal shake. That is, you can never have more than the allowable maximum of 5 shakes).
• Do not allow any recyclable item to fall into any other bin other than its matching bin. If you do you will lose one life, and you will have to repeat the level.
• The game ends when you lose all 3 of your lives.

Junk Yard Game Options:

• The game sounds may be turned on or off by clicking the sound icon located at the lower right corner.

Junk Yard Playing Tips:

• If you need to move a recyclable item toward its matching bin, and you feel you may not be able to do this by removing the junk, use the shake arrow early when the recyclable item is higher up near the top of the screen. This allows for the greatest movement. (If the recyclable item is already near the bottom next to an incorrect bin, it very often can be hard to get a good shake. The recyclable may not have enough gravity to move much, and it may end up almost in the same place).
• Sometimes, if you plan your strategy right, it can be very helpful to remove certain pieces of junk before trying your next shake. Removing the right pieces of junk can allow the recyclable to get a bigger shake or guide it in the direction you want it to go.

Pro: With spectacular crystal-clear graphics, Junk Yard is a brilliant game of strategy. One of the outstanding features is that each time the game is played it is completely different. The recyclable items may be different. And because all of the items are dropped from the top and bounce around, every level begins differently than before. The laws of gravity have never been so fun!

Con: It would have been nice if Junk Yard had a separate sound control for the music. That way, you could have turned off the music (which can be a little irritating) and left the rest of the sounds on.
