Game Description: Form matches of 3 or more in-a-row to turn all spaces to gold before time runs out.
How to Play Jewel Quest:
- Use your left mouse button.
- Click on 2 adjacent relics (or use a dragging motion) to attempt to swap their positions.
- The relics will only swap if there is a resulting match of 3 or more in-a-row.
- Spaces turn to gold when relics are matched.
- Turn all spaces gold to win before time runs out.
- The faster you win a level, the more bonus points you will earn!
- After you win a level, click the 'Play Again' button to continue to the next level.
- Jewel Quest has 4 basic patterns that are played over and over again in the same order (as long as you keep winning). The first 2 patterns do not have any buried relics. The third and fourth patterns have 4 buried relics.
- Buried relics look like other relics except they are pale and almost devoid of any color. Before you can remove a buried relic it must first be revealed by matching it with at least 2 other identical relics. When you reveal a buried relic, you will hear a rattling sound and the buried relic will regain its color. You will now have to match it one more time to turn it to gold.
- If you fail to turn all spaces to gold before time runs out the game is over, and you must start again at a zero score.
Jewel Quest Playing Tips:
- Should you get stuck for a period of time Jewel Quest will show you an available move by making a knocking sound and highlighting 2 moveable relics with a sparkle effect.
- You must be able to identify a buried relic before you can match it with the other relics. For me, the easiest way to identify which relic the buried relic is, is to look at its shape rather than trying to figure out its color.

This is a excellent game. I enjoy doing when I need some down time.
ReplyDeleteThis is a wonderful game. I love it.
ReplyDeleteI just received an anonymous comment about Jewel Quest posted on my Contact Page. Anonymous said "Every time I play Jewel Quest the game messes up, the icons disappear and the game does not work right. you just have to quit playing."
ReplyDeleteI was rather surprised to read this comment because Jewel Quest has always been one of the more stable games here at Richard's Game Reviews. In fact, in the more than two years that Jewel Quest has been here, the only problem that I can recall was about a year or so ago when the game was down briefly. But, when it has been up and running, it has always worked flawlessly. The last time I personally played Jewel Quest was about 3 weeks ago, and I certainly did not have any problems back then. But, just to be sure, I decided to try it once again tonight myself. I just finished playing 8 levels with absolutely no problem whatsoever. So Anonymous, I don't really have any explanation for you. I do, however, have a suggestion. I don't know if this will help, but you may want to at least give this a try. Try playing the game on a different web browser and see if that helps. I know a couple of weeks ago I was having a very tough time playing any games on Google Chrome. But I was having a lot less problems on Internet Explorer. I hope that helps. I know how frustrating it can be when you want to play a game and things don't work as they should.

Why does this game mess up all the time. I end up with a blank square and nothing will work in it. Totally makes the game worthless. Wish someone could fix it though.
ReplyDeleteHi Pamela,
ReplyDeleteJust to be absolutely sure that there was nothing wrong with Jewel Quest, I just played the first 7 levels. As I suspected, the game played flawlessly.
I am almost certain what you perceive as a blank square is likely a buried relic. There are 4 basic patterns for Jewel Quest that are repeated throughout the game. The first two patterns (as in levels) do not have buried relics. The third and fourth patterns always do.
There is a definite learning curve here. I remember when I first started playing Jewel Quest, I had no idea how to remove the buried relics. But once I figured out how this worked, the game became a lot easier. If you carefully read my 'How to Play Jewel Quest' and 'Jewel Quest Playing Tips' sections above, I think this may help you understand a little better what you need to do, and how to do it.
I hope this helps.
