Ocean Match

Ocean Match
Game Description: Move an ocean creature to the empty spot to get three or more of the same ocean creatures in a row. Creatures may be moved up, down, left or right. You must do this as fast as you can so the clock does not reach zero. You begin the game with 25 seconds on the clock. Each time you make a match of three or more in a row, a few more seconds are put back on the clock. Each time you complete a level you will get another 25 seconds. Have fun, and good luck!

How to Play Ocean Match:
  • After the game fully loads, click the 'Play' button.
  • Ocean Match is played on a 7 x 7 puzzle grid.
  • There are 48 ocean creatures, and there is 1 empty spot.
  • Your objective is to move an ocean creature to the empty spot to get three or more of the same ocean creatures in a row.
  • Creatures may be moved up or down, or left or right. Diagonal moves are not permitted.
  • To move a creature into the empty spot, simply click with your mouse. (Dragging with your mouse is not necessary).
  • You may click on a creature that is directly next to the empty spot, (that is one space above, below, left, or right of the empty spot) and that creature will move into the empty spot.
  • It is not necessary to make a match will each move. You are allowed to make as many moves as you want as long as time has not run out.
  • Besides clicking on a creature that is right next to the empty spot, you may also click on any creature that is either in the same row or column as the empty spot. When you do this, the place that you click will now become the new empty spot and all of the remaining pieces will move toward the old empty spot. (Moving the empty spot around allows you to jump around the board where you might find easier matches).
  • You begin the game with 25 seconds on the clock. Notice that the number of seconds you have remaining is always displayed in the empty spot.
  • Each time you make a match, a little more time is added to the clock.
  • Each level has a certain number of matches that you are required to make. You can see how many matches you have remaining to complete each level just to the left of the green 'Menu' button near the upper right corner. There, you will see the word "Bubbles" followed by a number. Watch this number as you play. It is important, because each time you can get this number down to zero the level is complete and a new 25 seconds will be put back on the clock!
  • Think fast! The game ends when you run out of time.

Ocean Match Game Options:
  • The game sounds may be turned on or off by clicking the microphone icon located at the upper left corner of the game screen.
  • You may pause your game by clicking the 'Pause' button also near the upper left corner. Click 'Continue' when you wish to resume your game play.
  • The game music may be turned on or off by clicking the musical note icon located at the upper right corner.

Ocean Match Playing Tips:
  • If you can learn how to move the empty spot around the board, as described above, this can give you quite an advantage because it allows you to go to areas of the board where quicker matches may be available. However, this will likely take a little bit of practice before you can get completely comfortable with this technique.

Rat and Cheese

Rat and Cheese
Game Description: Move your rat from one end of the row to the opposite end with your LEFT and RIGHT arrow keys. But, be very careful! There are moving blades that you must avoid. Each time you get to the opposite end of a row you will collide with a spinning spoon which will bump you up to the next row. Move up one row at a time until you finally get to the top row where there will be a block of cheese. When your rat eats the cheese, you will advance to the next level of play. Good luck, and have fun!

How to Play Rat and Cheese:
  • Once the game fully loads, click the 'Play' button.
  • You control your rat on each row with the LEFT and RIGHT arrow keys.
  • You must avoid being hit with the moving blades.
  • Once you get to the opposite end of the row you will hit the spinning spoon which will bump you up to the next row.
  • Continue moving up from one row to another until you make it to the chesse on the top row.
  • Each time you successfully get to the cheese you will advance to the next level of play.
  • The faster you can get to the cheese the more points you will score!
  • You begin the game with 5 lives.

Rat and Cheese Playing Tips:
  • Keep your fingers on the LEFT and RIGHT arrow keys at all times because you may need to suddenly turn your rat in the opposite direction to avoid one of the moving blades.

Richard's Rating: 3 out of 5.

Comments: Rat and Cheese starts out easy enough, but things start to get more interesting on about the fourth or fifth level when more moving blades are introduced into the game. Overall, Rat and Cheese is a quick and enjoyable game.
