Just Shut Up and Drive


Game Description: It's a race! Overtake your rivals and finish the race before time runs out.

How to Play Just Shut Up and Drive:
  • Besides your blue car, there are two other different types of cars racing on the track. There are numerous red cars, plus nine rival yellow cars. (It is easy to tell a rival car from the other cars. Not only is it yellow, but Just Shut Up and Drive will attach a big screen tag on each rival car as it comes into view).
  • For each race, your nine rivals will always get a head start. This means, you begin each race in tenth position. You can always see what place you are running by watching the position indicator located near the upper left corner. Incidentally, the red cars do not hold any postiton. They are simply there to get in everyone's way. Remember, each race is between you and your nine rivals. The red cars don't count.
  • Press the UP arrow key to accelerate.
  • Press the Down arrow key to brake.
  • Press the LEFT and RIGHT arrow keys to steer.
  • If you would like, you can instead use the w-a-s-d keys to control your car.
  • If you should come completely off the track, press the Spacebar to start racing again.
  • You can gain extra points for overtaking the other cars or keeping a high speed for a long time.
  • Try consecutive overtakings without crashing into anyone for more points.
  • For each race you get 320 seconds to complete the race. The clock, which counts off the seconds backwards down to zero, is located near the upper right corner of the screen.
  • You can also see how much race distance you have covered by the distance indicator, located just below the clock.
  • Your goal is to finish each race ahead of as many of your rivals as possible before time runs out. (Also remember, because your rivals get a head start, if you should make a lot of mistakes in the early part of the race, it is possible that you may never even see your rivals, except at the start of the race as they drive away).
  • Just Shut Up and Drive has ten different race tracks that you can play. When you begin playing for the first time, only the first track will be unlocked. The remaining nine tracks will be locked. To unlock each track, all you need to do is to finish a race, within the allotted time, and the next track will become available. Unlike many games, this is not difficult at all. (It did take me three attempts to get through level 4 -- named 'The Island'. For some reason I kept getting stuck in the sand and I found it hard to get back on the track, even with the Spacebar. But, that was the only level I had even the slightest difficulty with. I am really terrible at driving games. Believe me, I wouldn't tell you that if it wasn't true. So, even if you are bad at driving games like I am, you should still be able to open up all of the tracks without hardly any difficulity).
  • You may replay any unlocked track, at anytime, to try to better your score.
  • Just Shut Up and Drive should save your game progress automatically, as long as you use the same computer. At least, that has been my experience so far.
  • For each race you earn points, and the game should keep your total points for all of the races. (That is, the game will add all of your points together, from all of your races, and keep your grand total).












Just Shut Up and Drive Game Options:
  • Press the 'p' key to pause and open the options menu where you can drop down the quality in case the game is slow.
  • There is a volume control in the upper right corner on the main game screen. However, it does not seem to work, at least not for me. (There are also separate volume controls for the sound and music on the 'Game Paused' screen. But, these also do not seem to work on my computer). Anyway, if all else fails, you can always do it the old-fashioned way and adjust your computer's speakers to set the volume.

Just Shut Up and Drive Playing Tips:
  • Try not to crash into other cars or objects, because obviously it will slow you down.
  • If you cannot pass a red car cleanly, try hitting it from the side (rather than rear-ending it) and it will promptly disappear from the screen. This is a very easy technique to learn -- and very effective in getting traffic out of your way.
  • When you get off the track completely Just Shut Up and Drive will tell you to press your spacebar. While this certainly does work, there is one drawback. Should you press your Spacebar, your car will go back on the track but it will also come to a complete stop and it will take time to build up speed again. If you can spend a second or two and get your car back on the track by yourself, without using the spacebar, you will probably save some time. If you are not able to do so, then of course, use the spacebar to get back into the race.

Comments: Just Shut Up and Drive is quite simply one of the best car racing games I have seen. The graphics and sounds are superb. I especially enjoyed level 5 -- named 'The Mist', level 6 -- 'Thunderstorm', level 7 -- 'Iceville', level 8 -- 'Mountain Road', and level 10 -- 'The City'. As far as my driving goes, okay, I admit that I haven't finished higher than tenth (which is last place) but I certainly have had fun trying. I have managed, on occasion, to pass several of my rivals, but because of crashes and mistakes I have yet to finish out of last place. But, I can't wait to try again. It is tons, and tons, of fun! Enjoy!

Sneaky's Road Trip Denver

Game Description: Sneaky is going across country. This time, he is in the mile high city of Denver. There are several hidden items that need to be found. Use your magnifying glass to take a closer look!

How to Play Sneaky's Road Trip Denver:
  • There are 145 possible items to be found.
  • All of the items you are searching for are listed on the left side of each game screen.
  • Click on the magnifying glass to turn it on or off. You can use the magnifying glass at any time.
  • When you find an item, click on it with your left mouse button. The found item will disappear from the screen.
  • Try not to click anything other than items, or you will be penalized 5 seconds.
  • The more items you can find, and the faster you can find them, the higher you will score!
  • Click the 'Pause' button at any time to take a break and rest your eyes. To resume, click the 'Play' button.
  • Once you find all of the items you will automatically move on to the next level of play. (Should you be unable to find every item you may click the 'Skip' button to move to the next level. However, once you click 'Skip' you cannot go back.)
  • There are 5 fun-filled levels of play.

Sneaky's Road Trip Denver Playing Tips:
  • Don't forget to search near the edges of each picture. Sometimes, the hidden items are there.
  • When you click, make sure that you click directly on the item, or else you will incur a 5 second penalty.

Freddy's Fishing Fun

Game Description: Are you good at fishing? Well, let's see about that. Try to help Freddy catch enough fish to get to the next level.

How to Play Freddy's Fishing Fun:
  • Move your mouse left or right to move Freddy to where you want to drop the fishing line.
  • Click and hold your left mouse button to lower the fishing line. (The longer you hold your button, the lower your line will go).
  • Release your button to begin reeling in your line.
  • You can catch more than one fish or bonus item on the hook at one time.
  • Watch out for floating junk -- if junk hits your fishing line while you have fish or bonus items on it, they will be bumped off.
  • Each level has a specific type of target fish, and a quantity of that fish, that you must catch in order to reach the next level.
  • You will see a picture of the target fish before you begin playing the level. You will also see its picture at the upper right corner, during level play, to remind you of what it looks like.
  • Watch the fish counter located near the upper right corner (just to the left of the picture of the target fish). The fish counter shows you how many of the target fish you need to catch to make it to the next level.
  • Try not to catch any other type of fish other than the target fish.
  • Each time you reel in a fish that is not a target fish, the fish counter increases by one. (It will, however, not increase beyond its maximum starting point. For instance, if you were required to catch 5 target fish, the fish counter will not increase beyond 5).
  • Each time you reel in a fish that is a target fish, the fish counter decreases by one.
  • There are bonus items you can collect to pick up extra points. Many bonus items are floating in large rectangles. Some bonus items can also be found in the opening and closing giant clams or treasure chests at the bottom. Although bonus items will increase your scoring by a lot, they do not help you to advance to the next level.
  • You have 120 seconds to complete each level.
  • If you are able to get the fish counter down to zero before the time is up, you will advance to the next level.
  • If time runs out before you are able to catch the required number of the target fish, it is... game over!

Freddy's Fishing Fun Playing Tips:
  • You do not have to reel your line up, in a straight vertical line. You can move Freddy from side to side as you are reeling, to catch more fish and bonus items, or to avoid the floating junk (so you won't lose your catch).
  • Also, you do not have to reel in your line all at once. You are free to click and hold your left mouse button as many times as you wish. In other words, you can reel in your line part way and then lower it again and again. You may want to do this to avoid floating junk, or to help catch more fish or bonus items.
  • If you have more undesirable fish on your hook than target fish, it is a good idea to purposely hit the floating junk with your line to dislodge everything and then try again. That way, your fish counter will not increase!
  • After you learn how to play the game a little, you can concentrate on picking up bonus items especially during the easier lower levels. Many of the bonus items that you collect will increase your score by 1,000 points. Remember, however, that your main goal is to get to the next level. So, as the levels become harder you will have less time to concentrate on the bonus items.

Wild Wild Taxi

Game Description: You're a crazy cabbie racing against the clock! Drive as fast as you can. Swerve to avoid other cars... or just jump right over them!

How to Play Wild Wild Taxi:
  • Use the Up arrow key to go faster.
  • Use the Down arrow key to slow down.
  • There are 3 lanes.
  • Use the Right and Left arrow keys to change lanes.
  • Use the spacebar to jump.
  • You are racing against the clock.
  • Your goal is to cover the required distance (shown in meters on the screen near the upper left corner) before the clock gets down to zero.
  • If you succeed, you continue on to the next level. (There are no breaks between levels. You just keep driving. This is just one continuous wild ride!)
  • If, on any level, should the clock get all the way down to zero... it's game over!









Wild Wild Taxi Game Options: The game options may be accessed by clicking the object that sort of looks like a gear shaft; located just to the right of the question mark near the upper right corner of the game. The game options are as follows:
  • The game sounds may be adjusted.
  • The music volume may be adjusted.
  • Full Screen mode may be turned on or off.

Wild Wild Taxi Playing Tips:
  • You don't have to jump over every car. Sometimes, you can go around them by switching lanes.
  • If you get stuck behind a row of 3 cars, press the Down arrow key to slow down. Then, when you get enough distance between your taxi and the other cars, speed up and try to jump again.

Game Description: In Hidden Objects Room 4 there are four rooms with hidden objects. Each room has ten hidden objects, so there are a total of forty hidden items in all. Score 100 points for each hidden object you find and click. But be careful, because you will lose 30 points each time you click anywhere other than on a hidden object. Points will also be deducted for time taken after you finish the game. So the less time you take, the higher you will score. Good luck!

How to Play Hidden Objects Room 4:
  • Click the 'Play' button.
  • Use your mouse to click on the hidden objects.
  • The objects you need to find are listed at the bottom of the game screen.
  • Each time you successfully find a hidden object it will disappear from the screen.
  • Find all 10 objects to advance to the next level.
  • There are 4 levels of play.

Hidden Objects Room 4 Scoring:
  • Earn 100 points each time you click on a hidden object.
  • Lose 30 points each time you click anywhere other than a hidden object.
  • A perfect score would theoretically be 4,000 points. 4,000 points, however, is impossible to achieve because Hidden Objects Room 4 always deducts points for time taken. So even if you do manage to find all 40 objects without making a mistake, you still cannot score a perfect 4,000 points. (In fact, if you take a look at the leaderboard below you will see, at least at the time I published this, that the highest score so far is 3,973 points. And that score has only been achieved twice). Remember, the less time you take to complete the entire game, the fewer points you will lose. So the idea is to find all 40 hidden objects as fast as you can, while making as few mistakes as possible to achieve the highest score you can.

Comments: Like the other games of this series, this game presents a nice mix of easy and hard to find items. Even when you finally do figure out where all 40 hidden objects are located the game can still continue to be fun, because the challenge now becomes to see how quickly you can find and click on all of the 40 hidden objects without making a single mistake and try to see how high you can score on the Hidden Objects Room 4 leaderboard.

Bubble Shooter

Game Description: Shoot and destroy bubbles by making groups of three or more like-colored bubbles. Don't let any bubbles reach the bottom!

How to Play Bubble Shooter:
  • Point your mouse where you want the next bubble to go (the arrow at the bottom will indicate the direction).
  • Left click to shoot the bubble.
  • When three or more like-colored bubbles come together, they will explode. Also, all other bubbles that are attached to the exploding bubbles will also explode if they are only connected to the rest of the bubbles at the point of the explosion and not connected at any other point. Bubble Shooter calls this an 'avalanche.'
  • The more bubbles you blow up with each shot, the more points you score.
  • Avalanches give you ten times more points than ordinary bursts.
  • There are silver balls in the bottom left corner. These silver balls show how many misses you can have (where you fail to detonate any bubbles) before a new line of bubbles appears at the top and the remaining bubbles advance toward the bottom.
  • Your goal is to clear all the bubbles from the board, scoring as many points as possible.
  • If you are able to clear every bubble from the board, your score doubles!
  • If any bubble reaches the bottom, it's game over!

Bubble Shooter Game Options: The game options are accessed by clicking the 'Setup' button.
  • The color of the board may be changed by sliding the red, green, and blue buttons.
  • The game level is 'Novice'. (The 'Expert' and 'Master' levels cannot be played here on Richard's Game Reviews. Those levels would require the Deluxe version).
  • The sound volume may be adjusted, or turned on or off.
  • The 'Auto Save' and 'Graphics Acceleration' features also would require the Deluxe version.

Bubble Shooter Playing Tips:
  • Try to create an avalanche whenever you can. Not only does an avalance give you a lot more points, but it also clears away a lot of bubbles. Clearing away bubbles is important because this allows you to get a clearer shot at the bubbles above, and will help in your ultimate goal of clearing away the entire board.
  • Learn the bank shot, where you bounce the bubble off the left or right wall. Many times, the only way to get a bubble to its intended target is to use the bank shot. This takes just a little practice. Of course, the more you practice the better you will get.
  • You don't need to necessarily make a perfect shot. A glancing shot will usually be enough. Just as long as you make contact with the intended bubble.
  • When there are two bubbles of the same color, that are separated by one space, you can usually hit both bubbles by shooting your bubble between them. In other words, the left side of your bubble will hit one bubble, and the right side of your bubble will hit the other one. This is very easy to do as long as you have a clear shot.
  • Watch the color of the next bubble that is coming up. (You can see the next bubble in the left corner). Knowing the color of the next available bubble can help you plan your current shot.
  • Before making a shot, place your mouse pointer directly on the intended target. Then click. Although it probably depends on how your mouse properties are set, this can really help with the accuracy of your shots. For instance, my mouse pointer shows an arrow. So, I simply positon the arrow where I want my shot to go.

Hidden Expedition: Everest

Game Description: Find the hidden objects before time runs out.

How to Play Hidden Expedition Everest:
  • Click the 'Play' button.
  • There are items to be found in each picture. The items you need to find are listed at the bottom of each scene.
  • Use your mouse to click on objects.
  • When you click on a found item, you will hear a sound effect. The item will disappear from the scene, and its word will go dim on the list.
  • You begin the game with 3 hints.
  • In addition to the listed hidden items, scenes one and two also have 5 hidden gems. You can earn an extra hint if you are able to find all 5 hidden gems in either scene.
  • If you get stuck, and feel that you need help, you may click the 'Hint' button.
  • When you click the Hint button, Hidden Expedition: Everest will ask you to click on one of the words to use a hint on it. (If you should change your mind, and decide not to use a hint after all, you may click the 'Cancel' button). After you click on a word, it will then display a circle for a few seconds. The item you are searching for can be found somewhere inside the displayed circle.
  • Any unused hints carry over to the next scene.
  • For each scene, you are allowed 5 minutes to find all of the required items.
  • If you are able to find all of the required items before time runs out, you move on to the next scene.
  • If you fail to find all of the required items, and time runs out, it's game over!
  • This free version of Hidden Expedition: Everest contains 3 scenes. Each time you play the game the scenes will remain the same, but the required items will be different.

Hidden Expedition Everest Playing Tips:
  • Hidden Expedition: Everest is one of those hidden object games where you are not penalized for clicking someplace other than where you should. So obviously, a good technique can be to simply start clicking like crazy. Using this method, you are likely to find at least one or two items that you are searching for.

Richard's Rating: 4 out of 5.

Pro: What I like most about Hidden Expedition: Everest is that each time you play, the items you are searching for are different. This makes it seem almost like an entirely new game each time.

Con: It would have been nice if, in this free version, there could have been at least a few more scenes.

Game Description: The game of Hangaroo is just like Hangman - guess the hidden phrase to complete a level. Hangaroo is filled with thousands of terms and phrases, presented in random order each time you play. While playing, be prepared for cheers and jeers from the cuddly 'roo. He doesn't take too kindly to incorrect guesses... After all, it is his neck on the line!

How to Play Hangaroo:
  • Click the 'Start' button.
  • You can select letters by either clicking on the letter buttons above the puzzle, or by using your keyboard.
  • Fill in all of the letters of the puzzle to complete a level.
  • Be careful! Each time you are wrong, you get an 'X'. You're only allowed 4 wrong guesses per puzzle.
  • The indicator at the top right corner of the screen will show how many puzzles you have completed.
  • The game ends when you either complete 10 puzzles and save the kangaroo, or when you lose.
Hangaroo Playing Tips:
  • Look for common words such as: AND, FOR, IN, IS, OF, ON, TO, and THE.
  • Try common letters of the alphabet such as: A, E, I, L, N, O, R, S, T, and U.
  • When you see an apostrophe in a puzzle, there is most likely an 'S'. (Be careful not to mistake a comma for an apostrophe).
  • Keep in mind this game is apparently several years old, so some of the answers are outdated.

Comments: Hangaroo certainly has a lot going for it. First of all, there are thousands of puzzles that come up at random. This makes it less likely to get a repeat puzzle all that often. Second, even though the puzzles are somewhat on the easy side, some of the puzzles are challenging enough that you will probably lose, at least once in a while, which tends to keep things interesting. And third, but certainly not least, you have to love that kangaroo. He is quite the character!

6 Peaks Solitaire

Game Description: 6 Peaks Solitaire is a fun version of the popular game of Tripeaks Solitaire. Try to make it through a 6 level game, or play any of the 15 custom boards.

How to Play 6 Peaks Solitaire:
  • Click the 'Play' button.
  • You can select to either 'Play levels' or play a 'Custom game.' Click on your choice.
  • With 'Play levels' you will try to make it through a challenging 6 level game. Each level features a different board. (The last level, level 6, is the most challenging one).
  • With 'Custom game' first you select a theme, which is just a background picture. The three themes are: North America, South America, and Japan. After you select your theme, you will get to select any of the 15 custom boards to play. With 'Custom game' there are an unlimited number of levels. You play the same board over and over until you lose.
  • Each level of 6 Peaks Solitaire begins with cards dealt to the board, some face up and others face down. The board is at the top of the screen. Below the board you will see one card face up at the right bottom. That card is called the 'Base card.' You will also see, to the left of the Base card, a row of face down cards. These cards are called the 'stock'.
  • In Tripeaks Solitaire, cards have the usual rank of: A, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, J, Q, and K.
  • Use your mouse to click any card on the board that is either one higher, or one lower, in rank than the Base card. Suits don't matter.
  • When you click a movable card from the board, that card now becomes the new Base card. (If you should click on a card that cannot be moved, nothing will happen. You will simply need to try a different card). You can now build on the new Base card by clicking on any card from the board that is either one higher, or lower, in rank than the new Base card.
  • Kings can be built on Aces, and Aces can be built on Kings.
  • If there are no more moves, click the top card from the stock. That card now becomes the new Base card.
  • Your goal is to move all of the cards from the board to the Base card. If you do, you go on to the next level. If you fail, it's game over!

6 Peaks Solitaire Game Options:
  • The game sounds and music may be turned on or off by clicking the musical note icon located at the lower left corner of the game screen.

6 Peaks Solitaire Playing Tips:
  • As with all Tripeaks Solitaire games, the order that you play your cards determines your success. As you gain experience, you will come to understand which cards to play first in order to make the longest runs.
  • When you have a choice, play cards that will reveal other cards. For example, let's say that the Base card is a 9 and there are two different 10's you can play. One of the 10's stands alone and has no other cards beneath it. The other 10 does have one or more cards beneath it. In this instance, you would play the 10 that has cards beneath it. The reason is quite simple. You want to overturn, and reveal, as many face down cards as quick as you possibly can. This puts more cards in play and opens up more playing possibilities.
  • If you play 'Custom games' it certainly does matter which board you choose. Some, are much harder than others.

Comments: What I particularly like about this version of Tripeaks Solitaire is the variety it offers. With 'Play levels' you get 6 challenging boards. And with 'Custom games' you can select from any of 15 challenging boards, none of them a pushover. If you enjoy playing Tripeaks Solitaire, 6 Peaks Solitaire should quickly become one of your all-time favorite games.

Fish Snipe

Game Description: Shoot fish. Make as many points as you can before your oxygen runs out.

How to Play Fish Snipe:
  • Click the 'Start Game' button.
  • Use your mouse to position the cross hair on a fish. Click your left mouse button to shoot.
  • Your clip is displayed near the lower left corner. You get eight shots per clip. When you run out of bullets make sure you reload by clicking on your clip.
  • Points are awarded based on the speed and size of the fish.
  • Smaller fish are worth more points than larger fish.
  • Faster fish are worth more points than slower fish.
  • Your oxygen tank is displayed near the lower right corner. Your oxygen drains from top to bottom.
  • Every fish that you shoot will add a small amount of oxygen to your tank.
  • Keep an eye out for the elusive blue and green bonus fish. They are worth four times as many points as normal fish and add 2 seconds to your oxygen.
  • The game ends when your oxygen tank is depleted.

Ball Lines

Game Description: Destroy the balls by creating lines of 5 or more balls of the same color.

How to Play Ball Lines:
  • Click the 'Start' button.
  • In Ball Lines there are balls of different colors.
  • Move the balls so that 5 or more balls of the same color connect in a straight line. The lines can be horizontal, vertical, or diagonal.
  • To move a ball, first click on the ball you want to move. Then, click on the square where you want the ball to move to.
  • If after clicking on a ball should you decide that you don't want to move that ball after all, simply click on the ball a second time. This will release your mouse. Now, select another ball to move.
  • A ball can only move if there is a path by which to move. A ball cannot move if it is entirely blocked in by other balls.
  • When you connect balls of the same color in a line of 5 or more, the connected balls will be destroyed and removed from the board.
  • After each move that does not result in the completion of a line of 5 or more balls of the same color, new balls will be formed.
  • After each move that does result in the completion of a line of 5 or more balls, no new balls will be formed.
  • Each level has a required number of lines you must complete. (The number of lines you must complete to get to the next level is shown in the 'Next Level' box. Each time you complete a line, this number will decrease by one).
  • If you are able to complete the required number of lines, you go on to the next level and start with a fresh board.
  • The game ends when you run out of moves, and the whole board is filled with balls.

Ball Lines Game Options: The game options may be accessed by clicking the object that sort of looks like a gear shaft; located just to the right of the question mark near the lower left corner of the game. The game options are as follows:
  • The game sounds may be adjusted from high to low.
  • The music volume may be adjusted from high to low.
  • Full screen mode may be turned On or Off. (Yes, you can play Ball Lines in full screen mode!)

Ball Lines Playing Tips:
  • You can always tell where Ball Lines intends to insert the next balls by the four-pointed color stars. You can also see their colors. This is important information that will help you plan your next move, or moves.
  • Also, notice that I used the words 'intends to insert'. You can override one intended ball on a move, by moving your own ball to that square first. Let's say, for example, that you are intending to make a line of blue balls but you notice that Ball Lines intends to insert a yellow ball (indicated by a four-pointed yellow star) on the square where you were going to move your blue ball. Well, go ahead and move your blue ball right on top of the four-pointed yellow star. This will override where the new yellow ball would have been inserted. Learn this simple, but effective, technique and use it often.
  • Remember, that on moves where you are able to complete a line of 5 or more balls, no new balls will be placed on the board. New balls are only placed on the board when a move fails to complete a line. This can often be an important consideration when deciding where to make your next move.
  • Remain flexible. Although you may be planning certain lines, the game constantly changes with the formation of new balls. As new balls are introduced, you will often see better opportunities to make lines.

Pro: Ball Lines is a superb game of strategy. Take a few minutes to learn this fascinating game, and you will be very glad you did.

Con: Sometimes, at least for me, it can be very difficult to tell the difference between the purple and blue balls. It certainly is disheartening to move what you think is a purple ball only to realize after you have made the move that the ball was actually blue, or vice versa.

Two Rings Solitaire

Game Description: Build the 16 foundation piles by suit, from 7 to king and from 6 to ace.

How to Play Two Rings Solitaire:
  • Two Rings Solitaire is played with two standard 52 decks of cards. So, there are 104 total cards used in the game.
  • There are two rings of cards, a left and a right ring. The rings form the 16 foundation piles.
  • At the beginning of each game, all of the 8 sevens are dealt to the left ring and all of the 8 sixes are dealt to the right ring.
  • The sevens ascend in suits to king as follows: 7, 8, 9, 10, J, Q, K.
  • The sixes descend in suits to ace as follows: 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, A.
  • The next eight cards from the deck are dealt in two horizontal lines called bracelets. Bracelet 1 is above the left ring. Bracelet 2 is below the right ring.
  • The remaining cards remain in the deck face-down. The deck is placed inside the left ring.
  • The talon (also called the waste pile) is placed inside the right ring.
  • Cards are moved by clicking on them. You cannot drag cards in this game.
  • When you click on one of the bracelet cards the card will either move to one of the foundation piles if it is eligible to do so, or it will go to the talon if it is unable to move to one of the foundation piles.
  • Anytime there is an empty space in one of the bracelets, click on the deck to fill the empty space.
  • Once a card goes to the talon it cannot be moved, even if it is the top card in the waste pile. However, if you are in the first round you will get one final chance to get the cards in the waste pile unto the foundation piles at the second, and final deal.
  • Once the deck is exhausted, click on the space where the deck was. The cards in the talon (the waste pile) will be reshuffled and put back into the deck.
  • There is only one reshuffle allowed per game.
  • You win if all 16 foundations are built up to kings and aces.
  • If any cards end up in the waste pile at the end of the game, you lose.
  • If you want to quit the game before finishing and start a new game, click the 'Quit' button located at the lower left corner.







Two Rings Solitaire Game Options:
  • The music, and game sounds, may be turned on or off by clicking on their respective controls at the bottom left on the game screen.

Two Rings Solitaire Playing Tips:
  • Make sure you don't miss any opportunities to move a card from the bracelet to a foundation pile. It can be easy to miss a move if you are not alert. Remember, you must click on each card in order to move it.
  • Do not move any card from the bracelets to the talon unless the bracelets are completely filled up with eight cards and you have no other choice. It is always better to wait until all of the empty bracelet spots are filled because another move may open up.
  • It is usually better to move cards to the talon that will be among the last cards to be moved to a foundation (such as kings, queens, aces, and twos), rather than cards that are among the first to be moved (such as nines, tens, fours, and threes). The reason is simple. If you move cards such as nines, tens, fours, and threes to the talon you will most likely end up with many more cards in the talon and that will make it most unlikely for you to win the game. Sometimes, of course, if you have been dealt an unlucky hand you may be forced to move some of those cards unto the talon. But generally, try not to do so unless you are forced to do so by a bad hand. (Note: eights and fives can never move to the talon. Eights and fives can only be moved to the foundation piles).
  • At the end of the first deal, it is probably good strategy to click on all of the remaining bracelet cards moving them to the talon before the reshuffle. This opens up all 8 spaces of the bracelets and gives you more wiggle room.

Comments: Two Rings Solitaire is certainly one of the easier solitaire games to win. Once in a while you may get a really difficult deal, which at least will present a mild challenge and keep things somewhat interesting. If you are looking for an easy solitaire game, or just looking for something a little different, Two Rings Solitaire is a good choice.

Sudoku Challenge

Game Description: Welcome to Sudoku, the classic Japanese number game that'll have you puzzling for hours.

How to Play Sudoku Challenge:
  • Sudoku is played on a 9x9 grid made up of 3x3 sub grids, starting with various digits given in some cells.
  • In this particular version of Sudoku, Sudoku Challenge, the given digits are contained on red squares.
  • Red squares, that is given digits, are already in their correct positons and cannot be moved.
  • At the right you will see a column of digits from 1 to 9 on yellow squares.
  • Yellow squares, containing a digit from 1 to 9, can be dragged onto and off of the grid at any time.
  • Your goal is to fill in the grid so that every row, every column, and every 3x3 box contains the digits 1 through 9 without repetition.
  • There is a clock on the left. The faster you can solve the puzzle, the higher you will score.
  • Click the 'Reset Board' button to begin the same puzzle over again. This will remove all of the yellow squares you have placed on the grid. It will also reset the clock back to zero.
  • Each puzzle has one, and only one, solution.
  • Click the 'Give Up' button to resign. After you close the scoreboard, the game will reload and you may play again starting with a different puzzle.
  • Once you find the solution to the puzzle, Sudoku Challenge will show a congratulations message and give you your score. You may either submit your score, or click 'No Thanks' when the game asks you to submit your score. After the game reloads, you may play again.

Sudoku Challenge Playing Tips:
  • Try to place numbers in positions that you are 100% certain are correct. If you are less than 100% certain, don't insert the number. Wait until you get more information. The reason is, if you should place a number in an incorrect postion that will almost always cause you to make even more wrong assumptions and invariably lead to even more mistakes. Eventually, you will either have to give up or undo all of your mistakes. So, definitely try not to make that first crucial mistake that will lead you down the wrong path.

Comments: What determines the difficulty of Sudoku puzzles is the amount of given numbers that are already filled in for the user, and their relative location to one another. While I have seen some Sudoku puzzles that are impossibly hard and others that are extremely easy, especially in printed versions, Sudoku Challenge does not seem to fall into either extreme. For me, I do find the puzzles presented by Sudoku Challenge to be very challenging, but definitely winnable, at least once in a while. (Although, just between you and me, I do admit that most of the time I do run out of patience, and I end up giving up). If you are already a Sudoku fan, Sudoku Challenge should quickly become one of your favorite games to play. If you are brand new to Sudoku, Sudoku Challenge may be a nice vehicle to learn the game though you may also want to find an easier version someplace else online.

Game Description: In Hidden Objects Room 3 there are four rooms with hidden objects. Each room has ten hidden objects, so there are a total of forty hidden items in all. Score 100 points for each hidden object you find and click. But be careful, because you will lose 30 points each time you click anywhere other than on a hidden object. Points will also be deducted for time taken after you finish the game. So the less time you take, the higher you will score. Good luck!

How to Play Hidden Objects Room 3:
  • Click the 'Play' button.
  • Use your mouse to click on the hidden objects.
  • The objects you need to find are listed at the bottom of the game screen.
  • Each time you successfully find a hidden object it will disappear from the screen.
  • Find all 10 objects to advance to the next level.
  • There are 4 levels of play.

Hidden Objects Room 3 Scoring:
  • Earn 100 points each time you click on a hidden object.
  • Lose 30 points each time you click anywhere other than a hidden object.
  • A perfect score would theoretically be 4,000 points. 4,000 points, however, is impossible to achieve because Hidden Objects Room 3 always deducts points for time taken. So even if you can find all 40 objects without making a mistake, you still cannot score a perfect 4,000 points. (In fact, if you take a look at the leaderboard below you will see, at least at the time I published this, that the highest score so far is 3,985 points. And that score has only been achieved one time). Remember, the less time you take to complete the entire game, the fewer points you will lose. So the idea is to find all 40 hidden objects as fast as you can, while making as few mistakes as possible to achieve the highest score you can.

Comments: If you have already played some of the other games from this series, listed below, you probably agree that they are somewhat easy to solve. That is certainly not the case with Hidden Objects Room 3. This one is very tough! (Especially the first time you play it). I would say it is at least twice as tough as the aforementioned games. ("Where in the world is that coffee bean on Level 4 anyway?") If you like your hidden object games to be somewhat difficult, you will probably enjoy the challenge of playing Hidden Objects Room 3.

Spark Chess

Game Description: Play chess against 3 different computer opponents.

How to Play Spark Chess:
  • Choose White (pieces) or Black (pieces) by clicking on the arrow between the two knights near the bottom of the screen.
  • White always goes first.
  • Choose your desired difficulty level by clicking on one of the pictures: Cody is the beginner level. Cody is still learning. Play with him if you're a beginner. Claire is the intermediate level. Claire still makes blunders, but you need to focus a little. Perfect for a coffee break. Boris is the advanced level. Get ready for a challenge. Boris will do his best to beat you, so don't play unless you're an advanced player. (There is also a fourth level named Guru. Guru is only available if you purchase the game. Since I only have free versions of games here on Richard's Game Reviews, the Guru level is locked and is not available on my site).
  • Your pieces are always at the bottom. Your opponent's pieces are at the top.
  • If you chose the White pieces, you go first. If you selected Black, the computer will make the first move.
  • After the first move, play alternates between you and your opponent.
  • When it is your turn to make a move click on the piece you want to move. Spark Chess will light up the board with green colored squares. (If the piece you clicked on has no green squares light up, this means the piece is not eligible to be moved at this particular point and time). To complete your move, click on any green square. (If, after clicking on a piece, should you change your mind and wish to move a different piece, just click on the piece a second time. The green squares will disappear. Now, click on a different piece to move).
  • Should you make a blunder, and wish to undo your mistake, you may click the 'Undo Move' button located in the right panel.
  • Standard chess rules apply.
  • Spark Chess does allow castling. If you are not familar with the castling rules of chess, and would like to learn, please click here for a brief explanation.
  • Spark Chess recognizes the en-passant capture. If you are not familiar with the en-passant move, and would like to learn, please read this.
  • Spark Chess implements standard draw rules of chess based on three repetitions or 50 pawnless moves. (If you are not sure how the draw rules work, well neither do I. Presumably, the game will let you know if there is a draw. So, don't worry about it. Just play).
  • If you need to quit, before finishing your game, Spark Chess should automatically save your game for you. Then, as long as you use the same computer, you should be able to pick up your game where you last left off.

Richard's Rating: 4 out of 5.

Pro: Ever since I started Richard's Game Reviews, about a year-and-a-half ago, I have been searching for an available computer chess game that can consistently beat me. It's not that I am a particularly good chess player. I'm not. (This is not false modesty on my part. I am just being honest in acknowledging my own limitations). Speaking frankly, all of the other computer chess games I have here on this site are, at least to me, not very challenging. That is definitely not the case with Spark Chess! When I play at the highest difficulty, against Boris, I have yet to win. In fact, I usually get beaten quite soundly. The nice thing is, of course, if you are not ready to take on Boris you can always play against Cody or Claire. (Even Cody, the beginner level, is probably more challenging than the other computer chess games on my site even when they are played at their highest levels). So, there are 3 very good levels to play, each level presenting a nice challenge. If you have not yet played Spark Chess I certainly recommend that you give it a try.

Con: The only thing I don't like about Spark Chess, and the only reason I did not give it my highest rating of 5 out of 5, is the lack of depth perception. Sometimes it can be a little hard to distinguish what row a piece is on unless you look very carefully.
